In the Real World

I was in my bed, writing a song, or poem. It would've worked either way.

Alone at last we can sin and fight.

And I've lost all faith in this blurring light,

Stay right here we can change our plight.

Storming through this despite what's right.

"Whatcha doing, Faggy Biersack?" Peter taunted.

I ignored him and continued writing.

Lay your heart down, the end's in sight.

Conscience begs for you to do what's right.

Everyday it's still the same dull knife,

Stab right through and justify your pride.

"Answer me, fag. What the fuck are you drawing?"

"Go away." I replied and continued writing.

One final fight for this tonight.

With knives and pens we made our plight.

"Are you writing a fantasy story about you marrying your little boyfriend, what's his name. Oh yeah, Ashley?"

"No. He's not even my boyfriend. I'm not gay. He's just my friend. Now shut up and leave."

Well I can't go on without your love, you lost, you never held on.

We tried our best. Turn out the light. Turn out the light!

He snatched my notebook and yelled what I was writing in mockery.

"Alone at last we can sin and fight. And I've lost all faith in this blurring light, Stay right here we can change our plight. Storming through this despite what's right. Lay your heart down, the end's in sight. Conscience begs for you to do what's right. Everyday it's still the same dull knife, Stab right through and justify your pride."

"Give it back." I demanded.

"One final fight for this tonight. With knives and pens we made our plight."

"Peter. Give it back!" I yelled.

"Well I can't go on without your love, you lost, you never held on. We tried our best. Turn out the light. Turn out the light!" He cried out in mockery. "Oh woes me!"

"PETER GIVE ME THE DAMN BOOK BACK!" I yelled.

"You know what, Andy? Fine. I will." He threw the notebook and it hit my face before landing on my bed.

"It sounds gay as shit if you ask me." Peter spoke as if this was some sort of assembly.

Almost everyone laughed. The guys and the girls. Except for my friends: Ashley, CC, Jake, and Jinxx. Who were on the other side of the room. The only female not laughing was Charlie. the blonde that was rebellious toward Tom. She was in the bed that was next to mine and she looked disgusted.

Peter grabbed me by the front collar of my shirt and shoved me down onto the bed, holding me down.

"Your gay poem is accurate, but not 100%. There are no pens, just knives in the real world. Especially if you're a Dauntless." Peter said as he let go, throwing me down to the ground before walking away.

I got back up and picked up my notebook, holding it with a strong firm grip.

I hate Peter.

I hate him.
