TAYLOR POV

"Maisie! Time for gymnastics!" I called up from the bottom of the stairs, waiting until I heard her footsteps before I walked to the kitchen to get her snacks and water bottle.

Maisie had started gymnastics in January, when it was too cold to go outside and she kept climbing every piece of furniture and falling off. She went every Saturday, and usually we would get lunch together afterwards. I had been away for a week for business in LA but hadn't taken Maisie as she had school, swimming, and gym to go to, so my mom had come over to watch her. I felt badly for missing her gymnastics class but had rarely missed anything in the last 8 months she had been mine so I hoped it was okay.

"Are you taking me to gym today?" Maisie asked as she wandered into the kitchen, dressed in her leotard.

"Yeah, it's you and me sweetie. And we are going to go for lunch afterwards as we always do." I told her as I put her hair into a ponytail.

"Yay!" Maisie replied, "Is Adam coming over this weekend? I miss him. I haven't seen him in ages!"

"No, sweetie.... Not this weekend." I told her, feeling a little nervous about what I needed to talk to her about at lunch. I had planned and prepared what to say over the last few days but today was the day.

"Oh.... Okay...." Maisie said, sounding confused but okay. She was the kind of kid that sort of ignored things and bounced back quite quickly.

"Let's get a move on." I told her with a smile, watching her bounce towards the door and smiling at her.

MAISIE POV

Mommy looked nervous about something. I didn't really know what though, but just watched her as we sat down in a booth at my favourite restaurant. I didn't want to worry about her, but I couldn't help but feel something was not right.... like we were about to have a very serious conversation.

I wracked my brain to figure out what it might be about, trying to think about what I might have done wrong. I broke a glass last time Adam was here, but he had cleaned it up and told me it was okay. Was mommy mad about that? Was she mad at Adam? Is that why he hadn't been here for a few weeks and wasn't coming over this weekend?

"Mommy.... I'm sorry." I said to her, hoping that she would smile. Instead of siling though, she just looked confused.

"About what sweetie?" She said calmly, putting her menu down on the table and looking right at me.

"About whatever is making you sad...." I said sighing slightly.

"Maisie, I'm not sad." She replied, smiling a little, "I just needed to talk to you about something and I'm not sure how well you will take it."

"Oh.... what is it? Are you sick? Is it nana? Or Kitty, is Kitty sick?" I asked her, thoughts rushing into my brain about what it could be.

"No, no. Nobody is sick sweetheart." She said with a reassuring smile.

"So what is it?" I asked, now very confused.

"Well... last week when I was in LA I was asked to be on a big TV show." Mommy told me, watching me carefully and making me squirm slightly. "And I said yes, sweetie."

"Cool." I replied hesitantly, not quite understanding what she was telling me.

"Yeah, it is..... but the downside is that I would have to be in LA for the next 6 months to a year. So, sweetie, we are going to be moving to LA." She said, biting her lip.
