I walked down the halls of school. Not many people stared at me anymore. When I first came back to school after I received a black eye from Larson, everyone looked at me. I still have the black, I mean usually you'd have it for a little while and not like two days. It's my second day of having a black, if you don't count the day I got it.

Anyways, it was gym class now and we were playing dodgeball. I was okay with playing dodgeball, but at the same time I didn't want to get hit in the eye. I have the guts to play and take a risk, it's just I don't know what I'd tell my father. I am strong and tough, I just can't stand it when he pressures me into telling him what happened. I wish I could handle peer pressure, but I can't and it's horrible to have that.

The gym teacher, Mrs Brayers, had made teams and I was stuck with the kid whom is pretty close with my father. I didn't want him on my team, but I had to. Adam and Larson were on the other side of the room and I had McGill with me. I'd rather have McGill on my team because if you get a hit to the head from him, you're gonna be dizzy. I was pretty competitive, not just in hockey, but in school sports or gym class as well. I didn't need to be pushed around, so I gotta look strong enough to not look like a victim.

"Go!" She yelled and everyone ran from the wall and towards the middle of the gym. I had grabbed a ball and kicked a couple back to some of the other players. I did have some players from my dad's hockey team who were on my team. I didn't mind, I just hated the player that made me jealous.

I threw a couple balls, killed one person and I almost died myself if a player from team hadn't of ran in front of me and caught the ball. That kid was maybe the best and was always a target because of it, along with the slow non athletic kids. There was yelling and screaming, it kinda was annoying, but it was really loud in this gym. The ceilings may be high, but that doesn't mean it won't be loud in here.

I was running to the back of the gym when someone had ran into me and we had both fallen to the ground. There was a big thud sound because I was running and I assume the other person was running as well, and the impact must've made a huge noise. The floor's wood, so it's gonna be loud. Players from our team had ran over to us, helping us off the ground. I had my friend, Kelsey, who helped me up and then some other boy that was in our class who had helped the other person, who happened to be a boy.

"You all right?" She asked, I nod and she left, getting back into the game. McGill was dead, and from where I was, I could see that Adam was dead as well and Larson was still in it.

I looked over behind me to see the person, it was a boy from my dad's hockey team. "I'm sorry for not looking where I was going, "

He kinda smiles and shrugs his shoulders, "It's fine... I'm Guy," I nod.

"Kylie," He nods.

There was a girl on the other team and she stood there, staring me down for some odd reason and I didn't know why. Her arms were crossed and she had long brown hair. But she was pretty and I didn't have a clue why she was so upset with me. It was scary a little. "It's a beautiful name you have. Who chose it? Your father or mother?"

He was a kind young boy. I'm glad I ran into him and not the boy I hate who's also on his team. "Um, my father did. Even though he and my mom liked the name. He had got to name me while my mother named my pathetic sister," He laughs.

We heard someone yell at us and then we both got hit with a ball when we went to look around for the voice. We walked to the bench, still talking of course. I think it's all right to make friends with kids who are your rivals in a sport. "Pathetic?" He kinda questions.

"Yeah, I have a sister and I hate her,"

"Do I know her?"

I shrug my shoulders, "I doubt, she lives in a different town with my mother," We both took a seat on the bench, watching the last remaining people struggling to survive. The boy who was on my team and was the best at dodgeball was still playing and when he catches a ball, before he dies of course, then we all come back to life in the game.

"I'm sorry, well about your mom, I guess," He was having difficult trying to be sympathetic towards me when he didn't know if he was suppose to be sad or happy because of what I told him.

The girl, that was staring me down, was no dead and she quickly walked over to the two of us. We looked up, Guy was smiling. I assume they're good friends. "Excuse me," She says and pushes between the two of us, sitting right next to Guy. Holding his arm as if they're either good friends or a couple. "Thank you, by the way, you're team has caught a ball,"

She pushes me away from them gently and I fall off the bench, getting up quickly and ignoring her. I run towards the other and continue to play.

It was lunch now and I was sitting with some kids from my class. I had Kelsey, Tara, and Raquel eating with me. Three seats away was some boys from my class, I didn't really know them. I knew their names, but that was about it. We were all talking when I noticed that across from us was another table where the entire District-5 team sat together. That girl sat with Guy and then the boy, whom I hated, was sitting with a couple boys laughing and talking. I ignored them and just continued eating.

"Hey Kylie, who are they?" Raquel asked me, pointing over to the District-5 hockey team.

I look at the boy who I hate a lot, he had caught my stare as I spoke to my friends, answering their question. " The District-5 hockey team," The boy smiled to me, or my friends, either or, but I believe it was more towards me. I smiled back, being polite because at any time he could describe me to others or to my father and if my dad finds out I was mean to kids on his team, then I am screwed.

Even though that kid was cute, to me, I still hated him with all my heart. He just made my blood boil inside and he didn't make butterflies in my stomach, no he made them explode with hatred. I look back to my friends and Tara speaks up. "Do you know that boy?"

I shake my head. "No, he's just some boy on the team. I've played them, they're all right, not the best, but good enough," They all nod.

"So? Go talk to him," Kelsey tells me, I shake my head vigorously. Kelsey likes anything with two legs, nice eyes and can talk, and who are boys. Man, she's growing up fast and it doesn't help that she has three older sisters, who are all at the boy stage. Her sisters are seventeen, sixteen and fourteen and a half. I know her sixteen year old sister is dating Adam's older brother.

Adam's older brother use to play for the Hawks when he was younger and now he plays for a higher level of hockey and since the Hawks only went up to a certain age, he had to find a different team. "No way... My dad coaches them and I am not going near them. Larson, McGill or even Banks could see me,"

"Banks," Kelsey sighs, gushing over him. I slap her arm and sigh.

"No," I get and leave the lunch table, going to my locker to put my stuff away. I had an entire half day still. Boy, kill me now.
