When I awoke once more, hopefully for good this time, I was back in my own room, completely alone.
I attempted to stand up, and succeeded, barely so due to the throbbing in my skull.
I'd read once in scrolls that the intensity of the mind spectrum could cause this symptom, so I wasn't too worried.
Hobbling in a sore fashion over to the mirror, I gasped at my face. There was a huge bruise on my left cheek and forehead. But, the most shocking change was my eyes. They glimmered and sparkled in almost a manic way.
I had to cover them, if Headmaster BlackWood saw them, I'd be sent to the infirmary, and treated for exposure to the other dimensions, and let me tell you, the procedures aren't pretty.
I whipped around, as fast as one could whip around with a sore body, and began digging in my redwood drawers, hoping to find a floppy hat, or even a costume potion.
Due to my lack of luck, I found none of those items in my cluttered drawers. I sighed, and was about to wobble off to bed again, until someone popped their head in my unlocked doorway.
"Row-annnn" a voice jeered.
"Who's there?" I called back, a bit nervous.
"It's...an...ORC!"
Suddenly, the figure lurched out at me, leaping into the air, about to strike.
I reacted quickly, by snapping my foot out high above my head, planting a solid kick firmly in the orc's chest.
The Orc wheezed, and then fell to the ground, revealing a mop of red hair.
Wait. Red hair? Orcs don't have hair.
"Aw, man Row, really got me this time." Choked out the "Orc" now recognized as Oryn.
He did this on a weekly basis, sneaking into my room at an ungodly hour, and "surprise" attacking me.
Oryn never won, of course, but that didn't mean that he gave up. This had been going on since Learning Year One, when we were both five.
"Nice try, Ory." I snickered good-naturedly.
"Next time then!" He called out bravely, scrambling to his feet, only to be brought back down by coughing.
"Come on, you Oblivious."
He winced at my word choice. An Oblivious is a human being, and like the term states, they are completely oblivious to the world we live in now.
"Aw don't be harsh!"
"Fine, I'm sorry, now get out."
He huffed, and dragged himself out the room.
The second my door closed, I broke out laughing, as I always did when this happened.
Falling on to my bed, I fell asleep, still chuckling slightly in my last moments of awareness.

The girl, she hasn't made any more moves toward learning of the secret.
Why are we not striking now then?!
Fool, do you never learn?
