Kai's P.O.V.
October 22nd,2016
4 days before the start of the season.

"So this is how it's going to work." Brandon's Dad, Donald, started to explain. "There's two basketball goals with a box attach to each of them. In the box are strings of confetti. For the first one you, Brandon, are going to take a basketball and as hard as you can dunk it in order to break the box. Confetti will then fall down to reveal baby A's gender. If the confetti is pink then it's a girl and if it's blue, then it's a boy."

Today was my last day here in Kinston before boarding for LA. To celebrate, everyone thought it would be perfect to throw the Gender Reveal Party that B and I was going to eventually throw two months from now. Even though it was mid October, it still felt like summer back here in NC with the weather still falling in the high 70's so we all agreed to make it into a sorta family barbecue.

B nodded in response clearly excited to get this going . Mr.Ingram then turned to me.
"Same thing for you Kai except you will shoot a 3 pointer into the second goal in order to reveal Baby B's gender."

"Hopefully I still got it." I joked.

Mr.Ingram smiled at my joke before handing both Brandon and me basketballs. "Now on my count to 3. Brandon you will take off to your goal and Kai will wait til you're halfway there to shoot her shot into the second. Good luck."

I turned to look over at Brandon wondering if he was just as nervous as I was. Everything in me hoped for a set of twins boys. I always wanted a little boy. Just for the simple fact that they were easier to take care of versus having girls.

B on the other hand wanted a girl. Just so he can spoiled her and she can be a Daddy's girl. I wasn't feeling it though. Girls were too much to handle. Boys were simple.

"3 . . . . 2 . . . 1 . !"

As soon as one hit Brandon took off towards the hoop. Like Pops said I waited a bit until I rose up for my shot. My mind was so concerned with what Baby A was going be, I didn't pay attention to Baby B's.

It was like my heart almost skipped a beat when I saw the blue confetti strings fall down from Baby's A box. I screamed in excitement.

B must have been equally excited seeing as he was also yelling. His hand then went up to point behind me. My eyes follow in the direction of his hand only to see pink confetti falling from my goal.

B and I never took our eyes off each other as we were immediately crowded by our families hurrying to give their congratulations. I sighed to myself thinking about the future to come. A boy and a girl? We were definitely in for it.

I exhaled as I took in the scene around me.  Music boomed from the loud speakers, food was being grilled, and everyone around laughed and talk amongst themselves.

"You don't have to look like that, girl." Brandon's sister,Brittany, said as she came to pop a seat beside me.

"Like what?" I asked confused. "I was honestly just thinking."

"Mm, Thinking about what ?"

I shook my head and looked over at Brandon catching up with some of his Kinston friends he's known since diapers.

"LA." Was all I said. Whenever I thought about the move, I've thought about every single pro and con that came with it. And leaving Kinston for a city I barely been to twice was definitely a big con.
