Finding herself in the midst of a food showdown in the nearest diner from the courthouse, Marinette gave off a soft, satisfied smile. She sat her tired chin in the palm of her hand. Her companions were quarreling with each other over the last french fry. Offering to pay for another order, both Adrien and Ethan looked at her like she was stupid. "You can't get more, there's only one who's worthy," Ethan retorted, disgusted with her solution.
"Yeah! What Asshat said!"
"Hey! Watch it, Bitch Boy."
Sighing in confusion, Marinette spotted Mr. Wright, Adrien's lawyer, entering the greasy restaurant. He didn't interrupt the group's liveliness, only nodded at Marinette. She assumed he was telling her that he admired her for the way she carried herself on the stand. It was no small task, keeping composed while sitting through Ethan's, or her own, examination and interrogation.
Adrien had won the case.
Marinette was pardoned.
Chloe was sent to jail for five years with two years probation.
Ethan was glad to help out.
Alya was thrilled with the results.
The crew who was eating out for dinner was acting as though they hadn't just been testifying in court one hour prior.
"Peaches, tell him that I'd be more suitable for the fry! I'm only looking out for it!" Adrien yelled, the two now tossing in a pinch or poke sporadically. "How can you look out for it when you can't even dress yourself?" Ethan asked him. "I can dress myself, but I prefer to have a little help, if you know what I mean," winking, Adrien snuck a peek at Marinette who was looking less than amused.
"Pervert," whispered Ethan, taking a sip of his soda.
"That's it! I'm no pervert! I'm just full of mental issues and shit! Ask Peaches here for more info!"
"Oh, for the love! Both of you, settle down before I hurt you!" Marinette shouted, grabbing the lone fry and popping it into her mouth. When she peered at Ethan and Adrien, they had their mouths open and eyes wide, hurt that she would do such an evil thing. "Why would you betray us like that?"
"Simple. Both of you were getting vicious. No french fry will end up in the mouths of people who speak vulgarly."
Both boys paused, soaking in her wise words and taking them to heart. The staff at the diner was thankful for the volume levels lowering. "She's got a point. Truce?" Ethan stuck out his hand to offer a new leaf. "With you? Never."
With those hostile words, Adrien stomped out of the restaurant, out into the crisp, chilled night. Marinette called out his name several times as she searched for him in an uncoordinated fashion. Her small heels clacked on the cemented sidewalk.
Upon hearing a small sniffle while walking by an alleyway, she paused and turned, spotting a person squatted on the ground.
He didn't notice her at all, hence why he still had his hand shoved down his pants. The only way Adrien could calm himself down on his own was through sexual pleasure. Seeing as though he was a little more than short staffed in that department, he decided to send himself over the edge by his own will. She didn't catch onto his secret randevu until an audible moan shot through the wind. Bending down, Marinette snatched his arm out from his boxers, grabbing his other hand before he could get ideas.
"Look at me and breathe," she spoke lowly, "You won the case. Chloe's gone and I'm still here. I've just gotta beg for my job back. We're saved! And we can still be together if that's something you want, Honey."
