Ditto is a fail clone of mew?

Is ditto a fail clone of mew? Let discus!

Ditto and mew have the same weight, and colour(well sort of...) and the same shiny colour. Also, they are the only 2 Pokemon that can learn transform.

Does this prove that ditto is a fail clone of mew? It might, but we need more evidence. In the Pokemon mansion, where mewtwo and other experiments to clone mew were held, more ditto appear as you get closer to the testing chamber. This might be because they do not feel like leaving the chamber they were created in.

But how is ditto found in other regions? Ditto could have been created, and reproduced in large numbers. Then spread thought out the world, by transforming in to Pokemon and sneaking on to ships. But my previous paragraph said that ditto does not leaving the creation chamber, right?

I think that it is a younger generation of ditto, brave and adventurous enough to leave the mansion, is why there are ditto in other regions. Further more, why is it only ditto and mew that can learn transform? Why can no other Pokemon learn it?

This might be because that other Pokemon just wasn't made to transform. So we technically use this as evidence.

So to recap: Same colour, same shiny colour, same weight, more appear as you get closer to the chamber and the transformation ability.

Overall, it might be a possibility, but without Nintendo confirming it, we can't say for certain.
