Making my connection as I enter the room

Everybody's chilling as I set up the groove

Pumpin' up the volume with this brand new beat

Everybody's dancing and they're dancing for me

I'm comin' up so you better get this party started

Ch. 2 - Good Girls, Alcohol, & Bets Don't Mix

Mark me as thoroughly amazed. Brynn has done the seemingly impossible.

I looked in the mirror and as cliche as it sounds, it was like I was a different person. The stunning brunette in the mirror couldn't be me. My shiny chestnut hair cascaded over my shoulder and down my back in a messy but tasteful bunch of curls. My face was clearly radiant, my cheekbones stood to attention and my lips were full and glazed in a bright pink. She had gone for a dramatic eye, with thin winged cat eyes and baby doll black mascaraed lashes. The eye makeup along with the silver dress made my normally grey eyes shine like molten silver. (Just as Brynn had predicted.) The short metallic dress-made shorter by my 5'7 height- hugged my curves and flaunted my body, while the five inch black pumps made my legs look miles long. I hated dressing up but this was almost worth it. No, this was worth it. Brynn always amazed me when she made me up.

"If only you tried more, you could look like this all the time.....Then again you'd get all the guys so who am I to complain?"

I stuck my tongue out at Brynn and the beautiful girl in the mirror mimicked my childish action.

She smirked and held a deep blue dress up to her front. She cocked an eyebrow as if to ask, "This one?", and I nodded encouragingly.

She did her hair and makeup in record time, only taking fifteen minutes.

And then we were at Kane Grayson's house.

We parked on the curb and I saw, to my dismay, the flashy silver Lamborghini that belonged to no other than Diesel Arlex. The yard was littered with red plastic cups, toilet paper, and brown beer bottles. Couples made out right and left. If it was this crowded outside, how was it inside? Music blasted from the house and cheers and shouts were audible from the open door. We made our way to the front door.

I realized I hadn't been to a party in forever. Wasn't I due some fun?

Brynn shot me a questioning look and I nodded.

We stepped into the house and I inhaled the scent of alcohol, sweat, and other unmentionable smells.

Brynn immediately dragged me to the bar, where a rainbow of alcoholic concoctions sat in plastic cups and then an array of cans of soda. I went to grab a Dr. Pepper but Brynn took back the can, set it down, and handed me a cup filled with a dark brown liquid.

She glared at me until I cautiously raised the cup to my lips. I pretended to take a drink and made myself seem to choke a bit.

"That's strong," I faked.

She smiled happily and grabbed a blue drink.

"Oh! Emily! Kiera!" She took off like a shot in some general direction, leaving me alone, at a crowded party, in a "Rape me I'm here!" dress. I knew this would happen.

I unconsciously took a sip of my drink and coughed. My eyes watered and my throat burned.

Damn that was some strong stuff.

I coughed again and then stupidly took another sip of the liquid fire to dull the flames in my throat.

It didn't burn as bad this time, just made a warm trickle down my throat.
