So why do good girls like bad guys?

I had this question for a real long time

I've been a bad boy and it's plain to see

So why do good girls fall in love with me?

-'Good Girl Bad Boy': Falling In Reverse

Ch.5 - Devious Plans & A Crayon Masterpiece

"I have so much homework it's crazy. I think the teachers want to give us scoliosis," I said, adjusting my leather messenger bag on my shoulder.

Nick rolled his eyes. "You don't even have a backpack on your back," he replied, hitching his backpack up with his thumbs.

"Why thanks for that insight, Captain Obvious."

"No problem, Sargent Sarcasm."

While Nick didn't go to our high school-he went to St. Joseph's Prep on an athletic scholarship he'd been lucky to be awarded-he did get out fifteen minutes earlier than us and tended to meet us all here after school.

He usually met us here on Wednesdays, considering tonight was our weekly tradition. We all went out to Portabello's Pizza Parlor and ordered a big pie, splitting it between the seven of us; Brynn, Nick, Leila, Rachel, Dylan, Stefan, and myself.

Tonight was no different and we waited for the girls so that we could go home. I scanned the hallways for Diesel while we waited.

He had been placing notes containing science pick up lines in my bag, locker, and on my desk all day. The notes were far from appropriate and I blushed just thinking about them. The most recent one was found in my locker, saying 'Are you a scientist? Because I want to do you on a table, periodically.' He was never gonna win the bet if he continued on like this. He was killing his chances. I don't fall in love with guys like him. No matter how hot they are.

Brynn ran screaming down the hall and leaped into my arms, knocking me against Nick, who steadied my waist with his hands.

"Jesus, Brynn! You're so freaking spastic!"

Brynn smiled and wiggled in my arms. I narrowed my eyes. "I will drop you."

Brynn stiffened and then smirked and looked at me challengingly. "You wouldn't dare."

Shrugging, I smirked, and dropped her. She landed on the floor in a sprawled heap. She quickly scrambled up.

"How dare you?! Nick! Did you see what she just did?!"

Nick smiled and nodded his head.

"Well? Do something!"

Nick laughed and gave her a noogie. "She warned you. You deserved it Bri-Bri."

Brynn's mouth popped open in indignation before batting away his hand and glaring at me.

"If you weren't my best friend...."

"Yes?"

She narrowed her eyes. "Don't provoke me, bitch."

I laughed. "You know 'bitch' is not a term of endearment. Stop calling me it."

Brynn laughed too. "As if, biotch."

I sighed and spotted Leila and Rachael coming down the hall, chatting with Dylan, who Rachael liked. They spotted our little group and made their way towards us.

Brynn suddenly grabbed my arm and nodded towards the end of the hallway.

"Bad boy in leather wants you, babe."
