Y/N's POV:
The monsters being on the surface is, better than I expected.
Even if they are sometimes complete jerks, or total selfish snobs at times, I feel like there is good in every person. I even became a friend with a pair of brothers.
Their names are Sans and Papyrus.
Sans, is a short, hilarious comedian, but I can tell is very depressed, meanwhile Papyrus, is a tall, lanky, serious dude, with a pretty commanding voice. Two polar opposites, yet born from the same parents.
Sans is my best friend. I first saw him at a run down part of the city that I live in. It is flooded, from a hurricane, and now everyone just kinda left that part of the city. Sans was looking into the water; hunched over, in his black, and fuzzy at the hood jacket. I noticed right away that Sans was crying. His tears were dropping into the water below him, and he was shaking. I noticed no sniffling, which was odd to me. Every monster I have seen so far come out of the mountain, had a nose, so they could sniff...
Except for those who don't have noses, like the pair of skeletons that I saw.
I knew that this had to be a skeleton, which, I know now that he is Sans.
I walked up to the hunched over skeleton. I patted their back, and I started comforting them.
"Hey, I saw you all alone and crying. You don't have to tell me what's wrong, but just know that someone cares about you." I spoke honestly. Every word I said to him I meant, and even if it was a complete stranger. It's just that it was my motive to help out the ones that are lonely and are having a worse time than me. Monsters especially.
" T-Thanks...That helped a lot." The person stuttered at first, and also spoke softly and slowly. I hugged their thin body, covered with a black jacket that was fluffy at the edges, and decided to introduce myself.
"My name's Y/N." I sat beside him.
"My name's..." He contemplated whether he should reveal his identity. "Sans. Sans the Skeleton." He faced towards me.
Sans had a skeletal face, as I have guessed, and he has red eyes. He also seemed to have rings under his eyes, and he has a gold tooth in his permanent grin. He has red tears still in his eye sockets, but otherwise he looks grateful for company.
"I guessed that you were a skeleton. Without a nose, you don't sniff. Everyone else would sniff, but not you. Plus I've only seen two skeletons come out of the mountain, and there was a tall one and a shorter one. I've seen you around town, and you seem rather nice, well, more nice, than the others." I raddled off to Sans, who didn't mind my intellect.
Sans's POV:
A girl is trying to comfort me. No one has ever done that, besides Frisk... They are doing the nicest things that anyone has ever done for me. No one would even give me a second glance, much less than a pat in the back. I just feel like this girl would be important to me. What the heck am I even saying?! They are a complete stranger! No one besides Frisk will ever think I am lovable, full of kindness, and caring. Yet, a complete stranger can read me like a book.
"Why are you helping me?" I asked.
"Well it's my own little motive that I have, where I try to help the less fortunate than me. To other people, I have a normal, standard life, meanwhile there's a depressed looking monster, crying their heart out, and no one is even giving any heave if they hear it or see it. I, am honestly sick and tired of that, so that's why I did what I did." I just awed at the girl. No one in the underground would do that. I can't even compare them to Frisk right now because she is surprising me so much.
