Sunset

We got back to the parking lot where Josh and I split from the group to go to my car.
As we walked, neither of us could walk straight and kept bumping into each other. It seemed like Josh was doing it on purpose, but I really can't walk in a straight line on a normal day.
By the time we had arrived at my car we were already in deep conversation about video games.
"Oh come on. Mario is making such huge success now more than ever!" Josh almost pouted.
"I'm not saying that he's everywhere I turn. But that plumber is everywhere I turn, I swear," I finished with a laugh.
Josh just shrugged and agreed with me.
I walked over to my side of the car and went to go open my door when I felt Josh's hand slipped around my waist to turn me around into him. I quickly felt his lips against mine and was slightly surprised, but quickly recovered and leaned into it. He pulled away only to have our foreheads touching and laughed, more to himself than anything, and breathed out softly, "I've actually been wanting to do that since we met."
"It came out of nowhere, but I think that's alright. I've been wanting it too."
I let out a chuckle and pecked him on the lips again to only tilt my head and see Tyler and Jenna watching with the biggest grins ever and Brad with his camera taking pictures of us. Note to self: steal those pictures from Brad then destroy his camera. I started laughing and Josh looked at me confused. I nodded towards the bus and Josh turned to let out a breath of exasperation.
"Yeah. I, uh probably should've waited to do that until they left," he mumbled while rubbing the back of his neck.
I looked up at him and gave him a quick kiss on the cheek.
"I thought it was perfect timing."
Josh stopped mid-scratch and sat there wide eyed as I hopped into the car and started the engine.
He was still in a daze so I tapped on the horn to bring him out of it. He jumped as high as I thought a grown man-child could jump. He jogged over to his side of the car and was trying not to grin as we pulled away from the picnic area.

We decided we didn't want our adventure to end there, so we decided to go eat dinner since it was starting to get late.
"You have to try this place. They're so simple, but their burgers are delicious. The whole town basically goes there all the time. It's not like there are very many people here anyway."
Josh just laughed and nodded along to the conversation.
He soon took over the radio and started to blast his and Tyler's music on shuffle. I started singing along to Lane Boy as Josh started playing the drums on my dashboard.
"Do you still not know the words to your songs Josh?"
He shook his head and his bangs swung along his forehead. "I don't know a single word apart from the chorus. Actually," He paused as he tilted his head in thought, "I'm not sure I even know the chorus to some songs."
I burst out laughing and he soon joined in.
We pulled up in front of this restaurant that mainly served burgers. Josh turned to me as I turned off the car. "You know what? I know we just got here but what if we just go through the drive-thru and went to go watch the sunset." I smiled and nodded because this boy is such a hopeless romantic.
I turned the car back on, we got our food, and we went out to an open field near my house to watch the sunset.
The burgers were greasy, as always, yet still delicious. Josh got the idea of trying to throw fries in my mouth. He missed a couple of times at first, but we soon got really good at it. It quickly turned into a food fight with our fries. I occasionally caught some of the ones Josh threw and did a celebratory dance.
Josh started to flat out catch and eat them as I kept throwing the fries at him. He started laughing as I got "mad" and ran over to tackle him. We wrestled for a little bit and he ended up on top of me.
I blew a piece of hair out of my face, "Man. I thought I had you on that one."
"No, but I have you on this," he smirked as he leaned in and gave me a peck on the lips.
"Alright you win," I said as I blushed a light red.
Josh laughed as he got off to help me up.
"Hey Jish, turn around or your going to miss the sunset!"
"Did you just call me Jish?" He asked with a confused chuckle as I spun him around towards the sun.
"Maybe... but hey. The wildfires, that are spreading right now, are making the sunset look sick."
Josh spun around to face me, "And now you're starting to sound like Tyler." He smiled as he leaned in one more time, as the sun left its final peak over the mountains.

"You know that was actually on my bucket list," Josh said as I drove him back to the travel bus.
"What was?"
"To kiss someone during a sunset."
I blushed and playfully punched his arm.
We pulled into the parking lot the bus was still in and got out to walk towards it.
"I guess this is where we say goodbye..." Josh looked dramatically towards the bus.
I laughed and played along with him. "I wonder if I'll ever," I let out a big, long, sigh, "see you again." I looked up dramatically at Josh to see him smiling. I couldn't hold it in any longer and burst out laughing.
"No, but seriously. Do you know when you guys will come this way again? Or if you even will, Jish?"
He chuckled and fidgeted with his hands while he thought. "I actually don't know but I'll make sure to text you about it."
"Okay well, be safe." I added as I went up on my toes and gave him a goodbye kiss on the cheek.
He blushed and gave me a hug. We sat there for a minute when we heard a knock on the bus window.
"You guys are adorable! You know, Jenna and I totally ship you guys!" We laughed as Tyler's face came into view, all pressed up on the glass.
"I guess that's my cue to go or else I'll be out here forever."
"I guess so. I'll miss you Jish. Stay safe."
"I will."
He walked onto the bus and they pulled away as I was left standing there wondering what would come next.
