I scooped a bucket full of water from the shore side and walked back to where Hayley sat. She put down another sand tower with her red plastic cup and added a little starfish charm to the top. "We get our surfboards tomorrow..." Hayley said as she sat a shell next to the starfish.
"Okay cool... so are we just gonna explore the shore today?"
"Yah, i was thinking about going up to the shops and getting souvenirs... but that's a 3 hour walk, I don't mind it so it's up to you Ivy," she smiled.
"Let's go! We need to stretch out our legs anyways we've been on the train for awhile..." I replied, I loved going on walks. Anywhere I would go. I like to explore at my own pace.
"Wait! Right now?!" Hayley asked in shock. I subtly nodded and started to skip off towards the stairs near the beach. She quickly jumped up almost falling over as she clutched her wallet, and dashed after me.The trail ran through a small part of the forest, the ground covered in fallen leaves. I found a leaf that was a bright red-orange color with yellow strips on it from the stem and up into the leave tips. Brown rimmed the stems edge but the leaf was still plenty soft. I showed it to Hayley and she took it and made a charm out of it by folding it in on itself. She pulled it on one of the many strings wrapped around her wrists and tied it around my neck. How did I deserve someone as amazing as her? I fiddled with it as we continued down the trail covered in a large scale of colored leaves. We walked up another set of stairs near the end of the trail and up into a small town. She took my hand and pulled me off, running with a smile on her face. Oh joy, she wanted to do something else too. Last time it was one of those little kid ball pits. She stopped at a small little cafe. We walked in and my jaw dropped in awe, the walls were covered in photographs of outstanding views, gold coins were stuck at the corners of all the photos. A girl with bright green red and brown pig tails set a tray on a booths table. The couple started to eat the shared dessert.
"Oh! Hayley! Long time no see" pigtails squealed running over to Hayley and tackling her with a hug. Hayley pushed her off and started laughing uncontrollably.
"Um Hayzle?" I said. Hayzel was her nickname, as it matched her eyes and we spelled it differently to coordinate with her name.
"Sorry Ivy, i just... last time i saw Abby she was too goth to be this now" Hayley chuckled.
"Oh..." I blushed... it was awkward for me of course. I let out a hand for Hayley and she took it as I pulled her up. Abby got up herself, dusting off imaginary dust while glaring into the depths of our souls.
"Wow thanks for the help, meanies" Abby pouted.
"We came for some of the legendary food here Abbs" Hayley smiled back, disregarding Abby's complaint.
"Oh right! Take a seat anywhere! I'm the only one working today, waiter(ess) wise... well excluding Donny but he's serving his crush and I'm helping" Abby gleamed. Hayley gasped, her expression was hilarious.
"You.... you actually... you actually let me call you Abbs!" Hayley squealed hugging Abby and shaking Abby out of her socks as she did. I stepped back and leaned against the wall, slouching a little. Well alright then...Hayley turned back to me as she rubbed her friends hair, Abby clawing at her arm, "let's go get a table!" She smiled. I nodded and quietly walking to a empty booth (Not like there wasn't many or anything) I sat in a nice, clean and comphy one. The seats were covered in a black silky fabric, and the table had a beautiful wood design in it. Hayley sat next to me in the booth.
Abby walked up to us after grabbing her notepad from the front table. We ordered some foods we had never tried before and Abby nodded partially chuckling at something I ordered. Hope it's nothing too bad...
"She's not gonna poison you Ivy" Hayley laughed. "Chill out!"
"Sorry" I said releasing the tension within. "But would if she does" I conspired. Hayley's head fell to the table as she laughed for two minutes straight. Hayley is so weird...
