Emma's POV

I was sitting in the living room reading Enders Game when Crystal came bursting in, holding a magazine. "Gimme," I said, holding out my hand. Crystal handed it over and I ripped it up, not bothering to look at the cover. Then I threw it in the fire and settled back. "Crystal, word of advice: the next time you see an article mention the Doctor or I just remember to feed it to the fire."

She nodded and sat down on the edge of the couch I was sprawled over. "I hated the stupid maze."

I nodded. A couple hours after the maze, I had found out that the Doctor, the Dalek, and I weren't the only ones in the maze. Apparently, so was Crystal, Jenna, and Clara. It took both Crystal and the Doctor to keep me from stomping over to the news place and having Mortivia make out with Mind Changer, that's how pissed I was.

Anyways, shortly after the maze, it began to rain and hadn't stopped. The Doctor and Crystal could tell that I was getting edgy from staying inside all the time and knew when to avoid me. However, it took me a while to realize that the wetness on Crystal's face wasn't rain, but sweat.

"What's it like out there?" I asked, swinging my legs off the couch.

"Hot as a desert," Crystal wiped the sweat off her face.

"Antartica's a desert. It's not hot there," I reminded her.

"Fine. Hot as Texas. Happy, Miss Perfect?" Crystal growled.

"Quite." I turned back to my book.

Crystal was quiet for a moment, then she stood up quickly. "Guess who's here?"

"Don't want to know," I said.

Mortivia came bouncing up to us. I said casually, "You know you're not allowed in here, right?"

Mortivia ignored this. "I just need to ask a couple questions."

"No, no, no, and I've told you, I'm not in love with the Doctor," I snapped.

"No, no, no, that's not what I wanted to ask you," Mortiva shook her head, her curls bouncing around. I noticed her hair slid a little when she did that. Mortivia was wearing a wig. She straightened it and coughed. "So, question number one: When did you meet the Doctor?"

"Why am I not surprised it's about the Doctor and I? Anyways, answer number one, he and I met when I was flying away in my TARDIS a couple years ago and he decided to give chase because, well, he had no idea what my TARDIS was."

"Good, good," said Mortivia smiling, revealing pointy teeth. "Question number two- please tell me if it gets too personal- did you feel like- this feels a little personal, I know, it's a bit akward- like a zing or something?"

"Oh, yeah, the Doctor felt a zing all right," I said, rolling my eyes, "he was electrocuted by my TARDIS. Then I stomped on his face to knock him out."

"Okaaay," Mortivia sighed. "Well, I guess there's no point in finishing these questions."

"Who's the girl behind you?" Crystal said suddenly.

"Oh, that's my daughter, Anna rose. Come out, sweetie," Mortivia coaxed to the girl behind her. The girl had black hair done in pigtails and pale skin. She was wearing a black dress and was holding a doll.

"Hi, Anna rose," I said. I swear the doll was watching me. Anna rose wasn't. She was giving Crystal the dirtiest look ever. It made mine look weak, and that annoyed me.

"I don't talk to strangers," she said. Her voice gave me creepy images.

I ignored this and said, "I used to wear dark clothes, you know. We just might get along quite fine."

"We might not," Anna rose said. Crystal huddled close to me. Anna rose was younger than Crystal than maybe two years, not counting the years when Crystal was possessed, but I could tell Crystal was slightly scared of her. I kept the conversation going even though I didn't want to. "I like your doll." In reality, it scared the crap out of me. It had even whiter skin than Anna rose but the hair was the same as her. It was wearing a white gown. But the worst part was the lack of eyes. The person who created the doll obviously thought to him or herself, Gee, how can I make a doll creepy? Oh, I know! Remove it's eyes and replace it with "blood" droplets leaking out! The dress had bloodstains on it too, and the mouth was blood red and open slightly in a creepy way, but the person who created the doll belonged in an asylum. Seriously.

"Her name's Rosetta," Anna rose said, lovingly stroking the doll's hair. "Isn't she gorgeous?"

I nodded. "Very," I lied.

She smiled and ran away. I said to Mortivia, "I wouldn't let your daughter out of your sight. When I made the same mistake with Crystal and she became possessed."

Mortivia chased after Anna rose. I opened my copy of Ender's Game and continued.

Doctor's POV

When Emma blew up the hedge, little did she know the fire would spread. In three hours, the whole maze was in flames. My eyes surveyed the ashy remains of the maze. I turned back to the hotel and headed back in.

Emma was in the living room, reading her book. Crystal was leaning on her. Emma didn't even look up when I approached. "Well, I had an interview today. Mortivia has one hell of a creepy daughter."

"She has a daughter?" I asked.

"Yeah, she's eight and has a dark personality. Don't let me get started on the doll."

"Well, what was the interview like?" I asked, sitting on the edge of the couch.

"Two questions: When did we meet, and if we felt anything."

"What did you tell her?"

"You felt a zing because my TARDIS electrocuted you," Emma put down her book and looked me in the eye. "Which brings up an interesting question: Why did my TARDIS die like that? It wasn't normal."

"I've been wondering that too," I shrugged. "Your TARDIS was old, Emma, older than mine. This might be hurtful, but maybe it was-"

"Supposed to die?" Emma shook her head. "I agree with you on that. But the death- it was abnormal. I mean, how can a TARDIS die by it's room's being sucked into a dark void? It was crumbling into nothingness, Doctor, I almost went with it. It took the alchemy room first. I was in it. I don't know why it did this.

"But the weird thing is, most of the rooms were rooms where I had belongings or where I was in. It was like the TARDIS was trying to get rid of me, Doctor. It was like it turned against me."

"A TARDIS wouldn't do that," I shook my head. "It's weird, I know, but it happened, it's over, we can't do anything about it."

"Except find the reason why, and prevent that from happening to your TARDIS," Emma suggested. I didn't argue.

"Emma, she's back," Crystal complained. Emma looked up and so did I.
