Doctor's POV
I found Emma with Jenna and ran to catch up. They were talking. Emma was holding Luna in her arms and tears slid down her face. I was shocked. I had never seen Emma cry. "What's wrong?" I asked.
Emma gently unwrapped Luna's blanket and showed me the bruises. Then she looked at Jenna. "Jenna, I forgot to ask. How the hell did this happen?" I also had never seen Emma so angry, and that was saying something, because I've gotten bruises from her anger.
"Wh-what happened?" I asked. "I mean, those are some pretty nasty bruises, but I'm not-Emma, what happened?"
"Her back is broken," Emma seethed. "She's paralyzed from the waist down. And she's not even a week old!"
"Emma, I saw them coming and too late, I realized what was happening. Emma, I took off in a run, but I tripped with Luna in my arms. That gave them enough time to catch up. Luna-and please don't get angry at me- had fallen out of my arms. One of the men came over, kicked me in the back of the head, and said to me, "Oh, is this your child?" then before I could saw anything, stomped on her back. Stomped on it, Emma."
"I get it, Jenna," Emma said, "but I just can't believe it."
"Jenna," I butted it, "why is the asteroid like this?"
"Daleks have invaded. And some other people," Jenna explained.
I was speechless. Shocked. "Huge problem. How on earth do I know I'm here if they don't even know who the hell I am?"
"What do you mean?" Emma looked confused.
"A little while ago, Daleks asked me for my help with the Dalek Asylum-yeah, Emma, they asked their worst enemy to help them with an asylum-and well, Clara, she had done something to make all the Daleks forget who I am," I quickly explained.
"Clara?" Emma asked.
"She, well, helped me a lot through the asylum. She was a Dalek there, you know," I said.
"Whaaa....?"
"I know, it's a mystery to me, too. I hadn't even met her at the time; I was still with Amy and Rory. There's no time for that. We have to go!"
"Right!" Emma shoved Luna to Jenna. "Watch over her, okay? And don't leave the hotel!!"
"I'm gonna lock all the doors after you two leave. That alright?" Jenna asked, taking Luna from Emma's arms. I noticed how reluctant Emma was to let her go.
"Let's go," I told her, grabbing her arm.
It had quiet down since we had gone in the hotel. Emma slowly reached for my hand. "I don't like the quiet."
"I know," I whispered. "But we have to go on, Emma."
Emma nodded and leaned her head on my shoulder. I was a little touched by the closeness, but I had just spotted two men heading towards us. We could hear them talking, we were that close. One was saying, "We'd never find them here!"
"Those stupid Daleks are no help," the other man agreed. "They were all like, 'Doctor Who?' I'm so glad we dismissed them. I'd throw myself in front of one of their laser-thingers if they said 'Exterminate!' one more time."
Emma put a finger to her lips and led me to a pile of garbage, where we crouched down behind as they walked by it. "Say, let's try that tall building over there."
With horror, I realized they were talking about the hotel. Emma looked ready to run to the hotel, but she stayed where she was.
"We'll never find them there," the other man argued. "They've probably taken the stupid baby and fled."
"The blue phone booth thinger is still here," the first man pointed out.
"TARDIS, Jacob. Get your facts straight, you retard," the second man said.
Jacob's face turned purple. "Don't-call-me-retarded!" he yelled, punching the other man in the face.
"Ow! What the hell is wrong with you!" the other man cried, ducking the blows. Emma motioned for me to follow and she and I slowly moved out from behind the garbage. We moved quickly to the ice cream parlor, but that was a mistake. Men had raided the place and was eating ice cream right from the tubs. With horror, I saw the person who normally sat behind the counter was lying on the floor. He was dead.
Emma looked at the men still fighting, then ran to the library. Nobody was there, so we went in.
We were wandering around when Emma said, "Do you smell that?"
I sniffed and smelled smoke. I could see the yellow glow of the flames over at the children's section. "Why can't we go anywhere without nearly being killed?!" Emma complained as we made a dash for the exit. All of a sudden, a scream filled the air. I recognized Crystal at once and realized Emma wasn't with me. She had taken off when she heard the scream.
"Emma!" I shouted, trying to find her. Even with the empty streets, I couldn't find her. I spotted her near the small park and sprinted after her. "Emma!"
She didn't hear me, though. To top it all off, the men who had been fighting before had spotted her and grabbed her. I pushed myself to run as fast as possible. I past the TARDIS where I forced Clara to wait and sped up. A stitch was forming on my side, but I didn't slow down at all.
I found Emma and the men by the entrance by the tunnel. Two more men grabbed me and twisted my arms. Emma was making it hard for them to hold her. She was swinging and kicking and biting and screaming and doing whatever she could. "Let her go," I snarled.
"Now why would we let go of such a pretty catch?" Jacob gave me a evil grin and shook Emma roughly. She cried out in pain.
"Emma-" I began, but she shook her head. "It's a trap. Doctor, Mortivia's has been planning this."
"How do you know this?" I asked. "You've never met Mortivia."
"The doll..." she murmured, her head hanging. She had a cut on her face.
"Let her go!" I shouted.
"Oh, alright," and Jacob threw her into the tunnel. "We dug it out to make it deeper, too."
"Emma!" I screamed, but Emma's screams as she fell to her death were louder. I heard a snap, then silence.
"She's lying on top of her sister right now. Casey or whatever her name was," Jacob grinned. "Too late, Doctor. That snap was her neck."
