MATED TO MY BEST FRIEND

CHAPTER 2

"hey yo smurf " I greeted him with a laugh mom's talk abandoned.

"well I'm fine chicken. Watchu doing today huh? " He asked me making me laugh more.  My mom just finished her checkup and was giving me the *let's start going* look.

"mom just finished her checkup and we're getting ready to leave."I told him causing mom to raise her eyebrows.

"ok then let's meet at the vines in 10" Nathan told me as he cut the call. The vines was our special place. It was where we met and discussed. Probably something was wrong, I thought to myself but I let it slide as my mom was already out of Dr. Pepper's office.

I informed my mom of where I was going and I bolted through the door. I got to the vines in less than 5mins so I sat down on one of the chairs very close to the window and with a great view of their garden.

There I was till Nathan came up to me looking like someone who had a hangover with dark circles under his eyes.

"you look like sh$t" I told him. He barely looked at me as he replied "I feel worst "
"ok talk to me. What's really wrong. You look like hell" I couldn't help but be blunt.  I quickly summoned the waiter and he came to take our order. I pick pizza for the both of us as I was clearly hungry. Then I asked for a bottle of water while Nathan took Scotch.

I watched him as he thought of how to break me the latest news. I on the other hand couldn't wait to hear the gist. The waiter soon brought our orders and the tension was forgotten. We began eating like there was no tomorrow.

In less than 5 mins, the only thing left on our table was empty plates and glasses . I told the waiter to get me a cup of coffee. Then I turned to Nathan raising my brows, letting him know I was ready to hear his story.

Clearing his throat, Nathan started with a question "um belle, you remember Emily right?". I nodded my head in affirmation. This was typical "Nathan style" he could beat round the bush for hours.

"well there's trouble b. Emily is pregnant " he whispered the last part making my eyes widen. I was shocked beyond doubt.

"are you f$cking serious Nathan? Damn! Who knew she was a hoe? Buh wait, who's the father? I asked praying silently that it wasn't what I thought.

He looked at me and replied with one word that shattered my heart to pieces "me" 

I suddenly didn't have the strength to hold the cup of coffee as it fell to the floor breaking into pieces............
