KIM TAEHYUNG

      DROWNING.

Taehyung was drowning in his thoughts. In his emotions. In his fear. In his life. All of it was formed into water, sinking him into the depths of the ocean of his life and letting him go through an unbearable pain formed in his chest. His arms floated as his body sunk, his blue eyes closed and his mouth opened, taking in the salty water. He was letting himself drown in the ocean, he was ready to give up everything for the sake of his life. He didn't have anyone, so what was the point?

Memories flashed through his mind. How Taehyung be pushed into a fence as the other kids laughed at him. How kids whispering how he had no one by his side. How he would get beaten up constantly after school. How he'd cry himself to sleep, wondering why he had this life.

His life had been filled with bad experiences. He only had one friend (but not anymore), he didn't do the best in school, and his caretaker would always be coming home from clubs, drunk and beating him even more. And after she beats him up and spit out nasty words, she would break down, saying that she wish she could improve and Taehyung would make sure she would get to bed and would clean up the mess before going to bed himself. He would always leave food for her as well, if he's sleeping, so she didn't have to make any or find any in a drunken state.

He showed his personality as a harsh, sort of loner student. He'd been so broken in his short life, that he didn't have any soft spots for anyone. He never felt sympathy for anyone and chose to snap at someone whenever he or she attempted to talk to him. He had been in his own world, not realizing that people could be by his side, supporting him no matter what.

Of course, there was a time where Taehyung trusted someone. His ex-best friend, Jeon Jeongguk, also known as Jungkook. They had became best friends at a young age and grew up together, but the moment they started high school, popularity was Jungkook's main priority, so he left Taehyung for it. But Taehyung knew that Jungkook left him for some other reason — he knew that he wouldn't do it for popularity.

But Taehyung let him be and did everything on his own after that. So not only was his life drowning him, his ex-best friend was as well. His voice echoing through the water, sounding like a siren trying to allure the sailors towards them. But Taehyung wasn't effected by that at all, his heart was to cold to be able to let Jungkook's voice get in his head. It was as if he knew this was all an illusion.

All he could do was sink, trying to block out his emotions hopelessly as he waited to wake up at any moment, but being aware of the fact that he was in a dream made it even harder. He was too afraid to go back into the real world, but he wanted to leave the ocean. It was as if he was choosing between two paths, both leading to areas that look safe for him. He wasn't able to choose if he wanted to be asleep or awake.

"Kim Taehyung." Taehyung opened his eyes, looking around, but he didn't see anyone. "Kim Taehyung, you need to wake up." the voice whispered, sounding very familiar, but he didn't know why.

"But I'm too scared," he breathed out, shocking himself for being able to speak underwater.

"You don't need to be scared. Taehyung, wake up. Breathe." the voice said. Taehyung bit his lip before he obeyed the voice's command. He started to breathe.

The bright rays of the sun shone through the window, showing that the sun has risen and it was time for a new day. Taehyung opened his eyes, gasping slightly as he sat up quickly. Beads of sweat rolled down his temple, making him quickly wipe it. What the hell? he thought, looking around. Confusion overwhelmed him as he tried to process why he had such an odd dream.

He's only had an odd dream like that once, but that was when he was five years old. He was in the middle of the ocean, having nowhere to go. And then he heard a voice, and it was telling him to go to someone. But he woke up then, greatly confused before he told Anna, his caretaker, who said that it was just a dream and not to think too much about it. So he obeyed and it never happened again — at least, until now.

He pulled off his comforter and swung his legs to the edge of the bed. His feet touched the cold, wooden floor. He pushed himself off the bed, fully awake because of the strange dream. He sighed, grabbing his old phone from the wooden bedside table and checking the time. 6:00 a.m.

Time to go to hell, he thought before getting ready for school.
