JUNG HOSEOK WALKED DOWN THE BRIDGE, beads of sweat trailing down his temple, falling onto the concrete ground. His hands were covered in green vines, trailing up his arms under his sleeves as he stared at them, a look of shock on his face. He attempted to pull off the vines, but it was attached to his skin. He raised his hand, a tear slipping down his cheeks as the heat overwhelmed him.

He was exhausted. He didn't even know why — he knew that he was in his own dream. He knew that in seconds (or hours, seeing that dreams can only last so long in his subconscious mind) he would wake up, reality unleashing instantly. His clothes were drenched in sweat, his throat felt dry, and tears brimmed the his eyes. He stumbled before falling to the ground.

Hoseok screamed, pulling up his sleeves. A lining of blood was on both of his arms, dripping onto the concrete, mixing with his blood, sweat, and tears. The pain was agonizing, parts of him were burning from the excruciating feeling of knives stabbing him. He laid himself down, ready to give up, until the vines covered his newly formed wounds.

      And then he woke up.

Hoseok fell off the bed, groaning out loud as the impact of the hard wooden floor came in contact with his face. "Ow!" he whispered, pushing himself up. He raked his fingers through dark brown hair, letting out a sigh as he got up. He stretched, letting out a yawn before sleepily walking to the door, turning the cold knob and opening it.

The sound of his father's snores echoed through the quiet house. He came home late, he thought, frowning at the thought of his father stumbling into the house in a drunken state while he was sleeping peacefully after a long day of school and work. He looked at the clock in the hall; 5:30 am. He always woke up early so he could peacefully get ready and make breakfast for both him and his father.

He walked to the kitchen, grabbing bread and the toaster to make toast. He quickly inserted the bread into the toaster before grabbing milk and pouring it into a glass and taking a sip from it. He never really preferred to drink anything caffeinated, seeing that he was a hyper person in really any situation. There were very few times that he decided to get coffee because he was tired. It just didn't seem needed enough for him.

Jumping when the bread popped up from the toaster, he grabbed a small plate and strawberry jelly before taking out the toasted bread (with great struggle and a few swear words) and putting it onto the plate. He spread the jelly before taking a bite from the toast, resting his chin on his palm as he thought about the odd dream he had. The thought of it made shivers crawl up his spine. Maybe it was how the scorching sun made him want to drop down to the ground, or how his arms started bleeding, or how the vines wrapped around his arms healed it. He wasn't one to get nightmares often, but when he did, it was always something revolving around nature. There would be flower petals stuck to his fingertips, or his hands would literally become green. Anything like that.

He shook his head, letting the thoughts go to the back of his mind as he put the plate and glass in the sink. "I need to take a shower." he said to himself, going back to his room and grabbing his clothes before going to the bathroom.

"Dad, you need some rest." he said, pulling the blanket up to his father's chin as the older man only stared at him. "You probably have a major headache and you're probably really hungry — which is why I have medicine and food with you." he informed, inserting a spoon of cereal in the man's mouth.

"I'm fine, Hoseok," he grunted, sitting up. Hoseok continued to feed him, making sure not to give him so much at once. "I'm just a little tired."

"A little? You can't even go to work today!" he exclaimed, putting the bowl on the bedside table and taking two pills before giving them to him with a cup of water. "Take it." he said, giving the pills to him and watching him swallow them before drinking water.

He quickly grabbed his bag, looking at his father. "I have to go to school today, so don't get up unless you have to go to the restroom. Ji-woo will be here in a bit, she just had some errands to run. I put food in the mini fridge and you won't have to get up to answer the door because she has a key. I don't have work today so I'll be home early and you will not be going out to the bar today."

"Yes, sir." he joked, smiling brightly yet tiredly. Hoseok smiled back, planting a soft kiss on his forehead before waving and walking out of the room.

"Okay, school, grocery shopping, going home, and she'll be staying today. Not as much as usual — that's good!" he smiled brightly to himself as he walked out of the house and locked the door. It won't be that hard for now.
