Chapter Twelve

Taylor POV

“Kara!” I gasped as she fell to her knees, a patch of blood dripped from the spot on her head. Behind her stood a tall man, his rippling muscles made me cringe back in fear, and he held a long pipe leaking with Kara’s blood.

Said girl was motionless on the floor, her face consisted of shock, with her mouth wide open and her eyes faded in color. She looked lifeless.

“Kara!” I yelled again, and went to go forward, but Kakashi held an arm in front of me. “Kara!

The tall man who hit Kara bent over and lazily lifted her body to come and rest on top his shoulder. His long, shaggy, dark purple hair fell in his eyes, but they sparkled from behind the fringe with a dangerous glint.

“Sakura!” Kakashi called to her over his shoulder. “Take Taylor and run!”

“Okay!” she grabbed my arm and pulled my numb body down the hall, but I fought against her and leaped forward, only to have Shikamaru and Sasuke drag me backwards.

“No!” I struggled as they raced me the opposite direction, the man smirked at me and as quick as he was to appear, he vanished into thin air. “NO!”

Kakashi quickly glanced around and took off in the direction we were heading, after the man. His usually standing silver hair almost flattened out, and he too was gone.

“Kara!” I started to shout again, but it soon died away to a low mutter. “Kara . . . .”

We eventually stopped; I guess when Sasuke and Shikamaru deemed it okay for us to sit down and rest. They set me down and I immediately fell to the floor, still muttering her name. “Kara . . . .”

Sakura turned to Sasuke and Shikamaru with wide eyes. “What just happened?!”

“I don’t know,” Shikamaru lazily drawls, rubbing his neck. “But that dude wasn’t human, I know that.”

“Wasn’t human?” the pink haired girl repeated.

“Yeah, he had way too much strength for that attack; did you not see his muscles?” Sasuke added onto what the other boy was getting at.

“Kara . . . .” I whimpered.

They all looked at me with pity, and glanced around for Kakashi.

Kara just . . . I can’t explain it. Her eyes were so faded and dead looking . . . .I never want to see that again.

“Taylor, it’ll be okay, Kakashi-Sensei will get her back before you know it!” Sakura knelt beside me and patted my back.

“I-I just never pictured t-that to happen to her . . . ever!”

Sasuke gasped, with his arms folded he looked at me with hardened eyes.

“She’s . . . she’s gonna be okay,” Sakura said halfheartedly.

Shikamaru glanced around the hallway again and sighed deeply.

I must get to Kara and see for myself!

Third Person POV

The tall purple haired man carried the unconscious, almost dead, girl down the long barely lit hall. He grunted when it finally came to an opening, it led to a very large room. The ceiling was higher than three of him stacked up on top each other, and tables and computers filled the room.

There working at a table with his silver hair pulled back in a ponytail, stood Kabuto. He worked quickly, almost hastily, as he poured an odd colored liquid into a beaker and proceeded in shaking it.
