The books almost coming to a close! Yeah, but I'll probably do some from Shippuden! Anyway, this part has some ShikamaruxKara, but we're good! Thanks for reading!

Chapter Nine!

I looked around my room, the same pairs of crumbled up cloths from the first day I got here lay on the floor. I gripped the photo of my friends and I, it was slightly wet from the rain that started to pour. I had been standing outside on the balcony watching the street before I had to come get ready.

The funerals in an hour.

I sighed, and pulled the black dress over my head. The silky material glided along my skin, I had to admit, it was beautiful.

I didn’t really know the Hokage that well, I just knew him from the time I had met him when I got here. Plus I knew him from the show beforehand; I really wish I got a better chance to know him.

Pulling a chair out I positioned it in front of the dresser, I sat and pulled out the black beaded jewelry. It felt weird wearing all this, I’m not used to wearing earrings and I’m definitely not used to wearing makeup.  I stood after they were on and looked at my appearance, I looked ready, but I didn’t feel ready.

I sighed and pulled on dress shoes, then made my way out of the apartment. Everyone around that was going to the funeral was looking at the ground, depression climbing in to their hearts. I shook my head; Taylor wasn’t that far in front of me, I sped up to reach her. She gave me a small smile and we walked in silence to this sad turn of events.

The rest of the teams were positioned in one big clump in the crowd. I waved goodbye to Taylor as she went off to her own team, I joined my own as Sakura held a tissue to her nose.

She glanced up at me depressingly, and then faced the casket in the middle of the crows. Sasuke and Naruto stood side by side, both wearing tuxes, the black look didn’t suit Naruto, he didn’t look the same.

But the blond haired boy was staring at the ground sadly; he had his hands folded against his stomach. Small tears were falling silently from his eyes.

I reached up and rubbed his shoulder, he looked up slowly to see who it was. When he saw me he only nodded once, then faced the ground again. I wrapped an arm around his shoulders to bring him closer, his head fell against my shoulder as I patted his arm.

The sky rumbled suddenly and a few rain drops hit me in the face. I let go of Naruto and looked over to Sasuke, he nodded at me as he stayed stony. I faced the sky as the rain drops hit me more pronouncedly; it was very dark outside now.

Hmm, it’s so sad even the sky’s this way. The Hokage was a great man.

“We are gathered here today to honor not only our Lord Hokage, but to all of those brave and loyal ninja that lost their lives protecting this village, we will not forget them,” an older man, Homura I believe is his name, spoke as he walked to the front of the casket.

They were brave, thank you, ninja I never got to meet. You deserved to live a fuller, better life. People started to file and held out their white flowers.

I glanced up at the sky again; it looked so sad and beautiful at the same time. It’s how I felt on the inside. It really is a shame I couldn’t get to know him. I bet he would be—

“Can Kara Zumashi come out, please?” Homura asked the audience, grabbing me from my thought. I slowly darted my head down to him, his grey eyes met mine and gestured for me to come out. “The Hokage said he would like you to speak, if this ever happened.”
