Chapter Five!

Taylor’s POV!

My team and I raced through the trees; the training I got from Kurenai helped me a lot. I have to thank her later . . . .

Suddenly Akamaru whimpers and dives for Kiba’s jacket. The brown haired boy looks down at the puppy with confused eyes. He turned to Hinata with a questioning look, she understood.

“Byakugan!” her eyes changed and her face contorted into vein like things.

Her expression changed when she saw something. “Stop!”

We did as she said; as we stood there the only sounds were the whimpers of Akamaru. She whispered even quieter than usual.

“Someone’s close by.”

I leaped down with Kiba, Shino and Hinata following silently. We crouched behind a bush quickly as we heard voices.

The dog in Kiba’s jacket whimpered and shivered. Kiba looked across the few people that were out there.

Just a few people with headbands with a rain symbol on it and the three kids I met with Kara in the alleyway. They talked quietly at first and then the redheaded boy held up his hand, sand running from the giant gourd from his back. It encased itself around the man in front; he probably said something to anger him. The figure of sand raised itself into the air; I stared up at it with shock.

The boy raised his arm even further, then everything stopped. The boy said aloud, “Sand Coffin.” The sand in the air compressed against the man, blood squirting out.

I heard my teammates start to gag; I immediately brought my hand up to my face, trying to hold back the vomit. Hinata seemed like she almost started to cry.

The red haired boy walked back to his siblings, the older boy smirks and holds onto a scroll. “Good job, Gaara.”

The younger one grunts in response but stops, his eyes widening. “It’s not enough . . .”

The siblings seem to know what he’s talking about and they try to suppress his urges. It didn’t seem to work, though. He turned to face the final two, they were shaking.

“P-please, don’t . . .” one muttered, the other held up his hands.

“You have our scroll! Please just go!”

“No, it’s not enough . . .” Gaara muttered again, his voice becoming even raspier.

He held up both of his hands, the sand doing the same thing to the two standing there as it did to the first man. But he quickly closed his hands, encasing them completely with sand, he killed them instantly.

I could feel my heart start to race even faster, beads of sweat staring to roll down my face. I could hear the others start to do the same.

Kiba made to move away, but Gaara turned to look at us, making us freeze. He sighed and looked at his siblings again.

We didn’t stay long enough to listen more; we jumped up and away into the trees!

I can’t believe I just witnessed a boy around my age kill someone that easily! We reached the tower, breathing heavily from fatigue.
