Reunited At Last

Adelina walked out of the Captain's tavern the next morning before anyone awoke. While her hair was still choppy, her wings were finally back to their once crystal excellence and her hair was straight and a little bit lighter from being cleaned.

She sighed to herself in content basking in the warm sunlight, she pursed her lips stopping in the forest and used her strength to push herself off the ground and let her wings take flight. She stopped at the top of the trees and formed herself a little hammock in which she laid to bask in the sunlight.

"I sure do miss you Harlequin." She whispered to herself. She laid there for a while reminiscing on her old life when a sudden rush of nostalgia flooded her body.

"That magical energy.." She whispered her eyes pricking with tears.

She dropped down to a lower level and started zooming through the trees shakily. She finally came to the abandoned town just in time to see the legendary spirit spear go through the heart of her comrade.

"Sire no!" She shouted in shock stopping to the ground. Her king ignored her as he spoke with Ban. She clasped her hands to her mouth in shock as they began in a brawl, Ban constantly complaining that he doesn't know who Harlequin is.

Adelina knew.

"LORD FAIRY KING YOU STOP THIS INSTANT!" Adelina screamed and thrust out her hand wrapping thick jungle like vines around each sin and separate them.

"Full Body Imprisonment!" She snapped as she lowered them.

"Are you insane?! How can I possibly condone you killing a fellow comrade what have you been doing in my absence sire!" Adelina began yelling at her king all sentiments of seeing him temporarily disappearing. She easily slipped back into her role of advisor.

At this moment, Meliodas and Diane walked in, stopping as they saw one comrade looking utterly confused yelling protests of "NO WAY IN HELL THAT IS KING", one comrade looking dully down to their last comrade who was red in the face her pointed ears twitching in anger.

"Advisor Adelina, I think he got the message. You can let him down." Meliodas said laid back and smiling. Adelina scrunched her nose up in a sneer and unraveled both sins, Ban falling to the ground and King hovering.

"It's so good to see you again King." Diane said smiling and Adelina rolled his eyes as he looked away.

"Manners sire. What has gotten into you?" His young advisor snipped at him. He looked her in the eyes and hers slightly widened.

"So advisors have bonds with their king momma?" A young short haired red eyed fairy asked looking over at the newly crowned king.

An older fairy chuckled and smiled down at her daughter.

"Yes dear, you can already feel it can't you? I had a connection with the last fairy king. And now you have a connection to Lord Harlequin. You will always know how he feels, and in the deepest amount of times, you will know how he thinks."

The young fairy let her jaw grow slack as she looked at her new king. She began feeling waves of nervousness and excitement.

He turned to look at her and amber met crimson and suddenly a sweet voice filled her mind.

My advisor. This is what they meant by a bond stronger than the sacred tree.

Adelina for the first time heard that sweet voice fill her mind once more.

Elaine is dead. And he killed her. I'm sorry Addy. I'm helping the Holy Knights. And you're now a fugitive. You must get away or I'll have to kill you too.

Her heart pounded in her chest as her eyes grew wider still, tears beginning to come to surface. Her king turned and left, Chastiefole following in suit and she turned slowly to look at her white haired comrade in shock.

"That's weird..king never just flies off." Diane said confused.

"Maybe he had somewhere to be." Meliodas added.

Back at the tavern while everyone else talked to the two kids, Adelina sat out on the cliff looking out into the open.

Her mind was a jumbled mess as tears leaked down her face. Elaine is dead. Is that why they imprisoned her? Not only because she failed her race but got the Holy Woman killed by putting her in charge of the forest?

She heard footsteps behind her and knew it was Ban. He stepped beside her and looked off into the distance.

"Did you really do it Ban?" She finally asked having trouble believing he slaughtered the young princess.

"Did I do what Advisor?" He asked tensly and the fairy stood up looking at him.

"Did you kill Elaine?" She asked quietly and stared into his red eyes. Suddenly, she started feeling a nostalgic feeling again, it was as if Elaine was standing in front of her and not Ban.

Suddenly much like with King and like her connection with Elaine she was seeing flashes and flickers of thoughts. And saw as Ban replayed the memory of Elaine dying.

"Ban..." Adelina whispered her eyes filling with tears. Ban looked away shaking his head.

"She spoke of you highly. Saying you left to find King. When she died in my arms she...she asked me to find you. When I saw you I promised not to let you get hurt." He spoke sullenly and Adelina let herself cry, her body wracking with sobs but it went unnoticed as a tornado of flowers began.

When she wiped her eyes she noticed they were in a land of green crystals.

"The necropolis.." Meliodas said in wonder and suddenly Ban took off, King shortly appearing after causing Adelina to squeak and take off as well.

Still being weak, she couldn't keep up as easily and slowly fell behind. As she searched she let more tears fall as she thought of how quickly everything fell apart in the last few centuries.

Suddenly, the Chastiefole form of Guardian appeared and she saw it holding Ban tightly, a golden sceptre appearing.

"Petrification." King spoke tiredly and Adelina gasped rushing forward.

"HARLEQUIN NO HE DIDN'T DO IT!" She screamed and shoved Ban forward slightly coming between him and the bear.

The spear going through her completely, stone creeping through her chest.

And slightly piercing Ban...causing her sacrifice to be made in vain.

As the process slowly finished off Adelina she still heard around her.

"Now you've caused the second most important person in my life to die. If she never would have met you this wouldn't have happened. Any last words Ban?"

Silence.

"Even in death...you are just as selfish." King spoke.

Suddenly his voice was closer and Adelina felt lips brush against her ear.

"No matter what I do I can't seem to keep you safe. I'm so sorry Addy."
