Jasmine POV
I woke up this morning feeling that I'd been run over by a lawn mower.
Was yesterday real? Or just some random fantasy???
I checked my watch and read the time. It was 8:45
Oh god.
I'd agreed to meet up with Anthony outside the theater at 9:00. First rehearsal was at 11:00. Which meant I had 15 minutes to get ready, which was definitely not enough. I usually take a whole hour just to get ready for my daily run. I frantically shook the sheets off of me, and scrambled around the room, trying to find my clothes. I eventually found it, got dressed, and rushed over to Pippa's room. I knocked on the door hurriedly and she opened her door.
"What's wrong, Jazzy?" she said, quite worriedly.
"Sorry, Pippa! This is a life or death emergency!" (She had been reading a book, and by now I know that when you interrupt a reader, it's never good)
"Could you help me fix my hair?" I asked.
"Yes, yes! Let me get Renee though."
Pippa rushed over to Renee's door. In two seconds she was with me in her room and started fixing my hair. She made me a simple half ponytail, leaving a few strands out. (5 minutes remaining!!)
After that she let me borrow her perfume as I rammed my boots on, almost not tying them. (If I hadn't tied them, that would've guaranteed a free one-way trip to the floor)
"Be sure to be back before rehearsal!" Pippa said excitedly.
"And try not to trip!" Renee exclaimed.
"Hey, it isn't my fault the floor loves me!" I replied as I ran towards the door.
"Goodbye! Have fun!" They both said, laughing.
As I opened the door, I saw Anthony standing there, but, of course, I had to trip. I never reached the floor, though ;Anthony had grabbed me by the waist. When I looked up to him, he turned away, sheepishly.
"Sorry" he mumbled.
As I balanced myself, I said, "it's okay, but you didn't have to do that. I'm an expert with tripping"
His mood immediately changed. "So you have a degree in tripping?", he asked jokingly, smiling.
"Yes, I do. And we better go before I trip again."
"Okay."
Anthony POV
We walked to the corner and found a coffee shop. As we walked, I mentally debated whether or not I should tell her she looked gorgeous. Because... well, she just did.
Because of my immense distraction, I rammed into a stop sign.
Jasmine looked back at me and laughed as she said, "Hey, you okay?"
"Uh-huh" I replied, still not quite focused.
When we arrived at the coffee shop, we both ordered the same thing: plain coffee.  We  sat down at the table furthest away from anyone. Jasmine, not quite meeting my eyes, started fiddling with a random packet of sugar.
"So..." I started.
She looked up.
"How has your day been so far?"
She smiled a little and said, "Frantic. I woke up at 8:45 and had 15 minutes to get ready. Definitely not enough for me, though. I'm the biggest slow poke ever"
"Ha" I replied, resisting the urge to play with a curl hanging from the side of her hair.
She continued, saying, "That's why I tripped at the door frame. I was literally running."
"Where you that excited to see me?"
I then realized the awkwardness of the question.
"Perhaps.", she said, snickering.
I smiled.
Jasmine POV
This was my mind's current situation:
1: Today is going great!!!
2: GrEaT??? THATS THE BIGGEST UNDERSTATEMENT OF THE YEAR!!!!
2: THIS LIL MEETING GOT SO AWKWARD IN ONE SECOND HOW  DARE YOU SAY WE'RE DOING GREAT?????
1: Calm down.
2: aHhHhHhhHhhHhHhHhhHhHhhHhHHhhHhHhHhHhHhhHhHhHhhHhh!!!!!
"Jasmine...?" said Anthony, waving a hand across my face.
I suddenly bumped back to reality.
"Oh, sorry Anthony. I got a little distracted with a thought... about later today" I lied.
"You can trust me. What's wrong?" he said concernedly.
I decided to just flow with that.  And indeed, I was quite nervous about later today. I wanted to do well. But I was just so nervous... why?
"Well," I said. "I really want to do good. I mean, I heard Pippa and Renee singing yesterday... and they just sounded so good! Lin said I sounded amazing, though. But still..."
"Hey, it's okay." He said. "By looking at you, I can tell you have the voice of an angel." Smiling, he said this, of course.
That comment kind of took me off guard. Did he really think that? He has never even heard me sing! (Or known me for longer than a day, rather)
"Thanks, Anthony." I felt a bit more confident now. (Miraculously.)
He smiled and lifted his hand to gently caress the side of my head. I smiled.
Today was going to be a good day.
