Anthony POV
"Anthony!!!" Jasmine screamed from the bathroom in the morning of the 18th.
"Yes, Jasmine???" I ask, running to the bathroom.
"I... um, may have forgotten to get a shirt to wear for today... I only have my black jeans and a tank top.."
I covered my mouth to silence my laughs, but Jazzy must have been laughing too, because then I heard her giggle and say, "Anthony, shut up! Do you have anything I can wear?!"
"Well, its kind of chilly outside, so I guess you could wear one of my plaid shirts...my favorite one. I'll be back"
I went to my drawer and pulled out the red and blue plaid shirt that I wore to my audition. It was really comfy, so I figured Jasmine would like it.
I hung it on the doorknob of the bathroom door, and then said, "I left it on the doorknob! I'll go to the kitchen.."
"Tell me when you're there!"
I walked to the kitchen and said, "I'm not there!" I started laughing, picturing her embarrassment.
I heard her open the door and immediately close it back.
"Thank you! And stop laughing at me- I can hear you!"
A few minutes later, she came into the kitchen wearing my shirt and her pants. Her face was a flaming red.
We both started laughing, and then I walked to her and hugged her. As she hid her face in my chest, I said, "You look cute in it, I'll say..."
"Shut up..." she said, dragging her voice.
"I won't shut up"
I looked down, gently lifted her chin, and pressed a short kiss to her lips. Her face immediately spread into a smile, the way it always does after I kiss her.
"You ready for today?" I asked.
"I was born ready.." she whispered.
"That's my girl!"
She laughed, and then I broke away to carry her on my back. She loved it when I carried her.
I carried her down the stairs and to the subway station. (She insisted on taking a train, and a ferry later) We got a few stares, but this is New York City, no? You've got lots of weird things that go on here. (For example, a girl cartwheeling her way down Madison St..)
Right before the Brooklyn Bridge, we got off the train and took a ferry. After the ferry, we took another subway. Eventually we arrived to our new theatre: The Richard Rodgers Theatre. Lin and a few other people were waiting outside.
"Hi Jazzy!" exclaimed Renee, looking ecstatic for once. "Why... why are you wearing Anthony's shirt?"
Pippa came from behind her. "She's wearing his shirt!!!"
Jasmine's cheeks colored a deep pink, but she laughed and said, "Well.. um, I forgot to bring a shirt with me when I went to Anthony's apartment so... he just lent me one"
Other people from the ensemble, like Ariana, gathered around and teased Jasmine. She seemed fine with the teasing, though.
Many greetings and hugs later, at around 10:00, everyone from the cast was there.
"Okay, okay.. cast of Hamilton" proclaimed Lin, like a preacher. "Lots of new changes.. all fun! Let's get going!"
Jasmine's hand slid into mine, and so we walked into the theatre. We passed everyone's dressing rooms, and we squeezed each other's hands when we passed each other's. I everybody spent about two hours eating their stuff down in heir dressing room.
Then, we walked to some sort of large lobby, set up like a dance room.
"This" stated Lin. "Is our rehearsal room."
On the floor, there were numbers spread out.
"Don't worry about the numbers. You'll see what they mean at the end, when I take you to the stage. Oh, you guys are going to love the stage.." Lin said, waving his hands. "Go ahead and sit down."
We sat down, and instantly he began telling us the changes. There were some song cuts, some songs were changed in title, some in lyrics. We were going to begin recording the album tomorrow, along with orchestrations.
Much discussion later, at around 12, Lin let us have a break for lunch.
"How are you liking it?" I asked Jazzy, who ran to her dressing room ahead of me.
"I'm really nervous and excited" she said. She entered her room and handed me a sandwich she made.
And can I just say something about her sandwiches?
They. Are. So. Good.
I don't know how she makes them, but it's the perfect blend of turkey and chicken, lettuce, and some sort of dressing I can't name.
"Mmm" I said, eating her sandwich. "Delicious."
"Oh, shut up, Freckle Face" Jasmine declared, giggling.
After we ate lunch, at 1:30, Lin called us back to the room via the loudspeaker.
Oak shouted, "Lin, we don't even know where we are! A little help here?!"
Lin heard him through the loudspeaker and laughed. "Oops. Well, okay. Take a right and go down the steps. But by any means, do NOT go to the stage yet!"
Eventually, all of us managed to get to the room we were in before.
"Sorry about that confusion. Forgot you guys were new. Anyway, all we're doing right now is that I'll hand out the songs, and you'll be good to go after I show you the stage"
He took a few minutes handing out the songs, and led us back up the stairs. We stopped at a dark hallway. Dimly, I saw lights coming from afar.
"Hey, Tommy!" Lin shouted.
"Uh huh!" Tommy shouted back.
"Is the stage ready?"
"Yup. Go ahead"
Jasmine POV
Lin led us towards, what I assumed, was the stage.
Anthony was right behind me hen I first saw the stage.
The most beautiful stage I'd ever seen.
A balcony above me was dimly lit, and it had a 18th century kind of fashioned wood. There was a staircase pulled up on the side, and towards the back, I saw another staircase that I assumed, moved. Other props adorned the sides of the stage, and then I saw the numbers that we saw in our rehearsal room on a lower part of the stage.
"And here's the fun part! Go ahead, Tommy!" Lin exclaimed.
After he said that, the part of the stage I had been standing on began to move. Just then, did I notice that the stage floor had two large circles, and both were moving.
"Whaaaaaattt?" Daveed asked.
"That. Is. Awesome." stated Jon, from the ensemble.
"Well, okay. Once I open this curtain, you guys can hang out as much as you want. Until 6:00, because then I have to close up. Here are your schedules- and enjoy the view!"
Slowly, I saw the curtain shuffle over. Red colored, velvety seats came into view. Millions (or so it seemed) of seats. There were seats in the mezzanine areas, a few box seats on both sides, and more on the orchestra floor. A large chandelier hung from the middle, along with millions of other lights.
I stared endlessly out onto the seats. I sat down on one corner, hidden with the curtain, and hugged my knees.
I felt people beginning to leave, but I was too drowsy to realize that I fell asleep.
Anthony POV
Daveed and Oak pulled me into a long conversation. But what I really wanted to do was see Jasmine, and I couldn't quite see her. A few minutes later, they left, and I called for Jasmine.
It was 6:00, and Lin would be closing up soon. No one else was left.
"Jazzy?" I asked to no one in particular.
Then Lin came up from behind me.
"Oh hey Ramos. I'm closing up so.." he said. "Not that I'm kicking you out, though."
We laughed, and then I told him I couldn't find Jasmine.
"Are you sure she hasn't left?" he asked.
"I'm sure not...but I know she hasn't left the stage, and that's weird because otherwise id be able to see her"
"Hm.."
I went up the stage stairs to look on our balcony, while Lin searched the bottom.
"Hey, looks like I found your treasure..."
"Huh? Where?" I said, and ran down the stairs.
"Sleeping behind the curtain, it seems. I'll leave that to you, and I'll wait by the door"
I looked to where Lin had pointed, and sure enough, I found Jasmine sleeping on what seemed like a pile of fabric.
"Sunshine..!" I softly chided. I poked her, and she moaned.
"What...?" she mumbled.
"Of all the places you can fall asleep, you fell asleep here?"
"Shut up, Anthony. I'm tired.."
"Shh. I know, I know" I whispered, softly as I began to run my fingers through her hair and caress her face.
She smiled, and then she opened her eyes.
"Fine, let's make a deal. If you get up now, I'll stay at your place tonight and cuddle with you. If you don't.."
"Okay, okay."
She got up, sleepily kissed my cheek, and then we began walking to the exit. We said bye to Lin, and took our ferry back to her apartment , and later the subway. We ordered pizza, ate, and took showers. It was 9:30 when we finished, and as promised, I stayed to cuddle with her, something I missed doing since I'd been busy.
We sat down together on her couch, and she laid down on my chest while I wrapped my arms around her. I left a trail of kisses from her right ear, down her cheek, and to the corner of her lips. She giggled and blushed.
"Go to sleep" she whispered, snuggling into me. She closed her eyes.
I whimpered like a dog and whispered back, "No goodnight kiss?"
"No"
"Aww.."
She turned around and pressed her lips against mine. The kiss was sweet, and she didn't pull away for a long time.
"Goodnight, Ramos"
"Goodnight, Jones"
