Warnings: none

The streets were empty, on July 4th. Everyone had got news of Jason Blossoms mysterious disappearance or supposed death.
Parents practically barricaded their children a.k.a their reckless teenagers, inside and away from the 4th of July fiascos.
You were roaming the train tracks, usually you'd be at one of the many firework shows which were pretty much parties, full of drunk people and their sexual tendencies, but there were no firework shows tonight.
The day once full of celebration, now quiet and depressed.
You saw a familiar dark haired boy in the distance with that trademark grey beanie.
"Jug? I thought you and Arch were going on your road trip?" You jogged up next to him an he sighed.
"He bailed."
"Your kidding, Archie Andrews, your best friend bailed? He must have one hell of a reason, you guys are tight" you laughed and he glared at you.
"Thanks for rubbing it in, y/n." He sighed again as he looked up to the sky.
"Sorry I, didn't mean it like that...
I'm gonna get of this awkward topic.
You wanna spend 4th of July together.. maybe at the drive in, maybe you could give me some behind the scenes action..?" You smirked eagerly awaiting Jughead's response.
"Sure.. sure.." that old smile returned to jugheads face.
"Well.. what are we waiting for, let's go." You laughed pulling jughead along.
You ran along the tracks till you saw some lights in the distance.
"Cmon jug, trains coming." He just stood there turning in circles.
"Jughead stop, you idiot, i know how much you wanna get hit by a train right now but, you can do that after you spend the night with me," You pulled him aside laughing.
"See, I can make you laugh."
"You always have." Jug draped his arm around your shoulders and you leaned your head on his chest.
You both covered your faces as the train passed with a gust of strong wind.
Then a burst of colour filled the sky.
"Was that?"
"I think so." You and jughead ran and continued onward to a track that lead down near Sweet water river.
You saw a group of people lighting fire works with a huge bonfire in the centre of the action.
"Wanna stay here?"
"Hell yes."
Some kid came out with a whole pile of speakers plugging them into a dodgy car and adjusting the sound
You both stopped when you heard the familiar sounds of 'Fourth of July' by fall out boy.
You and Jughead immediately sung along and he pulled you to a clear even patch of grass and spun you around.
All these blind drunk teenagers with explosives, didn't cross either of your minds while you danced.
A few fall out boy songs later you decided to leave for the drive in.
It was abandoned, as usual except for the couple of snakes that never leave.
"What would you put on for me jug?" You asked and he didn't even need to think before he snapped back with an answer
"Death proof." He smirked
"I love that movie."
"I'm good." He said proudly.
You stared at his illuminated skin under the dim light of the drive in.
"Yes you are jughead jones." You lingered on your words and leaned in, Jughead as clueless as ever, didn't see it coming.
You softly kissed his cold lips and he remained as still as ice, you pulled away and looked down at your feet, embarrassed.
"I'm sorry, it just seemed like a moment.."
You looked up to jug, he was shocked but something in his eyes looked sweet.
He looked to your eyes and then your lips and back to your eyes again.
"Jug I didn't- "
He raised your chin and locked his lips with yours, he expertly slid his tongue into your mouth entwining your tongues in a firey dance. Melting whatever ice that was there before.
"You've done this before." You breathed out.
"Nope." He smiled nervously.
"There's no way I'm gonna believe that after that kiss." You laughed and his face turned confused.
"What why?" He asked
"Cause it was amazing."
Jug scrunched his face in a frown.
"I don't know whether to be offended or flattered." He managed a smile at the end of the sentence and you kissed him again.
Jughead held you close and you could feel his heartbeat increase.
"I love you Jughead Jones.." you mumbled into his chest.
"Do you mean what-"
"Ofcourse Jughead." He didn't even need to finish his sentence, you had the answer.
"You know I'm a weirdo." He smirked down at you.
"You think I'd like a normal person?" You laughed and he smiled again.
"I would've spent 4th of July alone and miserable, and I wouldn't of got the chance to kiss you,
My knight in shining-" you were cut off.
"Sarcasm." He laughed and leaned in to kiss you once more.
"I'm not sure sarcasm shines, but it fits."
