When my alarm rings at 7am, I feel everything, but good. Thinking about yesterday had me staying up almost all night. I know that it sounds very dramatic, while it isnt that big of a deal. I just need to know where I stand. So I can move forward.
When I sit up, I see Shawn sitting in his own bed, looking as sleepy as I feel right now. Just rubbing his eyes. I get on my feet and close the curtains, not wanting to be stared at while changing.
I notice that I left my diary on my bed and quickly throw it in my closet, just under my shirts.
"You done?" Colin smiles at me when he peeks his head through the door.
"How the heck can you be smiling this early?" I mumble, giving him an confused look. He just shrugs and smiles even brighter.
"Just be ready in ten" He adds and then closes the door again. And some moments later I stumble downstairs with my stuff, already sweating. Today its really damn hot, even though it doesnt really look like it. Looking up at the sky I see some dark clouds.
"Could you also come pick me up after school?" I ask before I sit in the car. Already knowing that it will be raining later.
"Yeah, I think so, but Im not really sure" Colin says. He drives not even for a minute when he parks his car. I didnt bother looking up from my phone, till I hear his window roll down.
"Come jump in" Colin says.
"Thanks, but-" I hear till Colin interrupts again.
"Shawn, listen, I dont have enough time for that just get in the car" Collin says. And the Shawn joins us.
"Hey" Shawn smiles, I give him a small glance before Im back at looking on my phone again. Pretending to do something important, while all I do is just scrolling down on the Instagram stuff, which Ive already seen yesterday.
"Thank you" I hear Shawn from the backseats. I do notice that Colin is surprised about me basically ignoring Shawn, but I have no idea what else to do right now. This caught be off guard.
"So, you walk to school every day?" Colin asks, looking at Shawn through the back mirror.
"No, I actually dont" Shawn says. "I just do that sometimes, when theres something wrong with my bike" he adds.
"Wait, that black motorbike is yours?" Colin asks, getting obviously pretty excited about it. I couldnt help but laugh. I watch Shawn nod.
"Whats wrong with the bike?" He asks.
"Something with the lights doesnt really work" Shawn explains, not really sounding that worried about it.
Pretty quick we arrive our school, which leaves us two being alone.
"Did you guys get homework yesterday?" Shawn looks at me pretty confused. I shake my head no, also being a bit confused. "Then what did you write?" Shawn asks, having me blink at him a couple of times. Thinking.
"Sorry, that may sounds a bit creepy" He apologies. "But I saw you writing something in your room yesterday and that just had me thinking" He explains. Probably talking about me writing my thoughts in my diary.
"I- I wasnt staring or something" He clarifies.
"Its alright" I smile. "I was just writing some stuff down" I say and walk with him towards the entrance.
"Well, well, well" I hear and then someone squeezes himself in between me and Shawn. Its Nolan.
"Are you alright?" Shawn asks, looking at him pretty pissed. But he tries not to be, I could tell.
"Yeah, why wouldnt I be?" Nolan asks, acting stupid. At least I hope its just acting.
"Okay" Shawn mumbles, looking away. "I gotta go" He adds and then walks up the stairs while Nolan and I walk to our classroom.
"Why does he hate you?" I look at Nolan, who just shrugs at me.
We arrive the classroom and sit down. I reach for my phone again, noticing Nolans gaze on me.
"You have a phone?" Nolan says acting confused.
"You did see me typing on my phone before" I say and continue checking my messages.
"You know, Ive heard that phones are pretty cool" Nolan explains and takes it out of my hands, acting as if it would be his first time holding one in his hands. Causing me to laugh when he types on the display, being fake scared when something pops up.
"Its indeed pretty cool" I say, deciding to play along. "Did you know, that you can talk to people while they arent around?" I whisper, acting like Im telling him a secret. "So you can talk to them whenever you want" I add.
"Wow" His eyes widen. "That thing is awesome!" His blue eye drop down onto my phone again.
"Could we do that too?" He asks, causing me to lift my eyebrows.
"You did a whole show to ask for that?" I laugh,
"Its actually just me asking you to send homework the night before its due" He explains, having me laugh even more.
"What makes you think that I will send it to you?" I say, pinching my eyes.
"There are a lot of reasons to do that" He claims, obviously flirting.
"Im not really sure about that" I say, watching him put my phone into his backpack.
"Then I will keep that, till youre sure" He says and zips it.
"So youre blackmailing me now?" I say.
"Im just making sure, I get what I want" He whispers before he grins and then looks away, having me roll my eyes.
As soon as the break starts we are back in the cafeteria, just like yesterday. And Im honestly just looking forward to see Shawn and give him this little paper Im holding right now. He did ask me for my phone number first. So he is also getting it before Nolan.
Looking through the windows of the cafeteria I see that it starts raining. I also see Shawn and a girl running quickly up the stairs, laughing.
Could that be his girlfriend?
They both walk in here and get some food. Then they leave again.
"Everything okay? You look like something isnt" Nolan whispers.
"No, everything is fine" I nod.
"Are you sure?" He asks, absolutely not buying it.
"Actually.." I trail off. "About the future homework stuff. Does that also work the other way around?" I ask, watching his smile grow.
After the break we needed to split up in groups for a project. I guess its pretty obvious that Im with Nolan, but two people arent really a group. So thats how I met Sophia.
We sit there for a while, talking about how to start the group project. Till we figured that the first thing we need to do is to start a group chat in WhatsApp.
So thats how we spent the last hour of the day.
