Luna's POV

His words strike me. I thought he'd forgotten. I hoped he'd forgotten. It was the same night I ran away.
"It wasn't your fault," are the only words I can send past my paled lips.
"Then what was it?" he questions, adjusting himself on the couch, so he's sat facing me.
"I was scared," I sigh, pinching the bridge of my nose.
"That's what you always say," he mutters, beginning to stand up.
"Well, what am I supposed to say?" I question, allowing my voice to raise a little.
"I don't know. You hate me. You hate what I did to you. I drove you away, I don't know," he shouts throwing his arms out.
"That's not true," I nearly whisper, "You want the truth? I loved you, Luke. I was so madly consumed in my love for you that I couldn't deal with it. I hated myself. I hated my life. Then I finally got something good, and I didn't know why. I didn't think I deserved it. So I ran. I fucking ran from everything because of it. So there it is. The cold, dark, scary truth. Truth being I was never scared. I just didn't think I deserved anything that nice," I explain.
"I'm sorry," he sighs, bringing me into his arms.
"It's okay, you didn't know," I willingly step into him, "but it's okay. I'm here now."
"Yeah. You have no idea the impact you had on me when I saw you standing there. The same purple hair, the same green eyes, the same pale skin, nothing changed. And I made sure not to change anything about me just in case. I wanted you to be able to recognize me. I kept my stupid boyish quiff, and the same style just so you would recognize me."
"Really?" I'm completely blown away.
"Yes. You meant so damn much to me, Luna Mae. And you still mean so damn much to me. And you will always mean so damn much to me. Because I am so madly in love with you. Luna Mae, I love you so much, and I truly mean it."
"Wow," I sigh. He's pouring his heart out to me, and all I have to say is 'wow'... wow.
"Or I mean," he begins, but I cut him off.
"No, no. It's just, wow," I pause to collect my thoughts. I then look up, drowning in the ocean held within his eyes, "I'm in love with you, too."
