A Gracious Host

Eduardo DeLeon. Also an organ donor, fancy that. Although, I doubt the scene unfolding outside is what you had in mind. What is it that is unfolding outside you ask, dearest theoretical reader? Why, it's a community feast! So lively this social gathering; family and friends from all around have gathered to dine on Mr. DeLeon. The generosity of this man, truly, it knows no bounds.

Splayed out on the asphalt, baking under the sun -- Oh! I see that he's provided punch for his guests, very thoughtful indeed. It may be a bit warm, and the texture is a tad thick, but all is well, the thought is there and a good party-planner never forgets beverages. But it would appear that folks might be getting a little too rambunctious; it's spilling everywhere...what a mess. Have a little control for goodness sake, you are guests after all.

Ah-ha! I see that he's also provided hot dogs, a classic summertime snack. Fabulous choice Ed, you really do know best. Everybody is really digging in! Punch and sausage for all! Strings upon strings of funny looking sausage links pulled straight from the man himself; you really do know how to please a crowd. Wait a minute... no bun? Guys? You don't want ketchup or anything? Seriously? No condiments at all?? Yeesh, aren't you going to at least cook the --

It would appear not.

The ripping and tearing, the digging and pulling, the voracity of an unquenchable appetite. Yes, this is what the living sees: an incognizant monster that preys on the living, a beast that feasts without reason, without purpose, but unrelenting in his pursuit to do so. My appearance conjures this very scene in their imaginations. This is what they fear.

And then the crowd dissipates; off they go, just like that, as party-goers are oft to do. Off to the next shindig, appetites infinitely unquenched, mumbling amongst one another, bumping into each other like drunken fools as they slowly round the corner. Rowdy lot this one. Burst onto the scene in a frenzy, helped themselves to the goods, and then off they went leaving behind Eduardo's hollowed out shell in their wake. How undignified.
