Twins..?

Emily and Alison were sitting in the waiting room of Ali's doctors office. They were going to their first sonogram together, they both got to get a little time off work and go. A nurse had finally emerged from the back with Alison's chart in hand. "Alison DiLaurentis?" Alison stood up and grabbed Emily's hand as they walked back to the room following the nurse. "Doctor Sullivan will in be shortly." The nurse said smiling as she left after having Alison lay on the bed. Emily sat close to Ali holding her hand the whole time "I'm so excited.." Emily said grinning from ear to ear "I finally get to hear the baby's heartbeat in person rather than through the CD they gave and just I can't wait to see our baby." Emily gushed with enthusiasm and she started to blush when she realized how cheesy she was getting. Alison felt her heart begin to melt, our baby, Emily said our baby she really wants a family with me, it was all Ali could think about making the time fly by fast and the doctor walked in. She did the routine check and now for the moment Emily had been waiting for.. the ultrasound. Ali lifter her shirt and the doctor applied the cold gel to Ali's stomach making her shiver a little. The doctor slowly ran the handheld piece across her stomach and turned the screen for both girls to see the baby on the screen. "...And here's the heart beat. " The doctor smiled but looked at the screen questioningly making both girls a little nervous. "Is something wrong..?" Alison said in a barely audible whisper. "Yes it's just.." the doctor trailed off moving it across her stomach some more finding another heart beat. The cut off sentence made the girls heart drop for a few seconds "Sorry it's just looks like you're having twin.." The doctor smiled and congratulated them. Emily and Ali looked like they had just seen a ghost. "I'm 20 weeks pregnant though.. they never mentioned anything about twins before." Alison said feeling her throat start to get dry and squeezed Emily's hand. "Well they're identical and share one womb, see here is baby A" the doctor moved over to see the small baby "..And this is baby B" the doctor explained moving over to baby B. "Baby B must've been hidden when you got your first ultrasound earlier on to confirm the pregnancy. I'm so sorry we didn't see this before.. I'll give you both a minute and come back to complete the ultrasound." Emily held onto to Ali's hand tightly completely stunned by what had just happened.. twins..? That's two little people to depend on us and we just officially started dating not that long ago. One baby is a big change to a relationship two will be twice as hard. "Twins.. wow. Uhm I don't even know what.." Alison lip started to tremble and tears slowly rolled out her eyes. "Emily I can see the look on your face, do you not want to still have this family with me?" Alison's sniffed as Emily slowly wiped Ali's tears away kissing her forehead softly. "Of course I want the twins with you, it's just one baby bring so much change and we're still so new, two babies is going to be twice as hard on us. Are you sure we're ready or you're ready?" Emily bit her lip fighting back tears and Ali reached up softly touching the brunettes cheek. "Emily I want this. I want a family and I couldn't imagine it with anyone else. Of course it'll be hard but we've been through so much more we'll be okay." Emily leaned down kissing the blonde softly just as the doctor walked in. They slowly pulled away giggling to themselves as the doctor continued with the ultrasound. "Would you like to know the sex of the babies?" Emily and Alison looked at each other smiling widely. "We're going to have a small gender reveal party with our friends so we'll wait till then." They both tried to explain at the same time as Dr.Sullivan wrote it down on a piece of paper placing it in a sealed envelope for them. "Here you go, I'm sure you and your friends will be extremely excited about it." With that she left leaving Ali to finish wiping the gel off. "I can't wait to have a family with you Em.." Ali said softly smiling. Emily touched Ali's cheek slowly brushing her hair behind the blondes ear. "I can't wait either, I never thought when I told Hanna I'd be helping a lucky couple start a family, the couple would end up being us."
