Bailey's p.o.v
I just checked out the apartment I am staying at because I need to be in full on Derek mode unless I'm by myself in order for Jason to trust me. So once I checked out and paid the lady I quickly went to a gas station a block down from the apartments and went to the bathrooms. I went into the men's and made sure no one was in there and also there was no cameras outside. I looked into the mirror and changed my face into Derek's and then changed into the men clothes. I walked out the bathroom and started making my way towards the shop, but what greeted me was not a pretty sight.
There was police cars all over the place and Jason was standing in front of the shop. I quickly walked over to him and that's when they brought the gurney out with a body in a black bag.
"What happened?" I asked using my "Derek" voice.
"Someone killed him stone cold in his office." Jason said glaring at the body before the doors where closed of the truck and he shook his head.
"I wonder who did it." I asked generally confused of why anyone would kill Francisco.
"I have an idea who it is but I don't think she would do something like that." He said shaking his head and rubbing his head.
"Who do you think it is?" I asked generally curious of who he was talking about.
"My ex-ma... girlfriend." He said quickly catching himself when he almost said mate.
Wait. What? He thought I killed him?
I looked at him in confusion because I didn't think he would know I was here unless that bitch told us about our encounter and then maybe yeah but she didn't know who I was.
"Why would you say that?" I asked.
"It's complicated." Jason said and then rubbed his forehead again. He must have a headache or something.
"You wanna go down to the bar and talk about it?" I asked and he said yeah.
We started walking down the block to the car on the corner and we entered. There wasn't anybody really there because it was like 8 o'clock in the morning but of course that one drunk guy that's always drunk.
We sat down at the bar and I waved to the bartender.
"Can I get two beers?" I asked and he nodded his head and came back a second later with them. I handed one to Jason and he started drinking it up.
"So who is this ex girlfriend of yours and why would you think she killed Fransisco?" I asked taking a gulp of the beer.
Jason sighed and then pushed his hair back in frustration.
"It's a long story." Jason said
"Well we got plenty of time." Even though I already knew this story but I want to hear it from his point of view.
"Okay so about 3 months ago I moved here from America for reasons I can't say because they are not my story to tell. But I had this girlfriend and I left her behind because of this thing that I can't say and I wouldn't be surprised if she was super pissed at me because of that and now she is taking it out on people I care about." Jason explained and I frowned a bit because I didn't think he would think this low of me.
"But I don't think she did do it because even though she might be super pissed at me she has this heart of gold and I know she wouldn't hurt anyone unless needed." Jason continued and I felt a little better but it still hurt that he accused me.
"Why not think it was just a low life scumbag that wanted something from him and he killed him for it?" I asked
"I don't know because I know she is in town and I know she is probably pissed about what I did. But that is nothing compared to what might happen if she found out about this other thing that I can't tell you about. I think this whole city would be up in flames." He chuckled and then had a solemn look on his face.
"Why can't you tell me? I mean I know we have only known each other for like maybe a few days but I don't know there is something that tells me we can be good friends." I said and then laughed. "Wow that sounded girly as shit." Trying to cover up that Bailey was speaking instead of Derek.
Jason only gave out a snort of laugh and then shook his head.
"I wish I could tell you. I need to get it off my shoulders but I can't. It's too dangerous especially knowing that Bailey is out there somewhere." Jason said taking another swig if his beer.
"So that's her name Bailey?" I said and nodded my head and took another swig if a beer.
"Yeah she is he most amazing girl I have meet. Strong too. Stubborn. Beautiful. It takes all of me not to go track her down but I know that if I do she would demand answers that I can't give her." Jason sighed and then started chugging his beer and called the bartender to get him another one.
Now I know that he thinks that I can't forgive him for what he has done but I swear I can. He's my mate. Whatever he did I could totally forgive him.
Jason was chugging his beer and I was just sitting there thinking what he could have done to think that I wouldn't forgive him.
"Who is gonna take care of the shop now?" I asked after a few minutes of us just thinking.
"His niece Veronica gets the shop. She is the one who helped me get the job in the first place. I owe her a lot." Jason sighed and then got up, "I'm going home to see how my mom is. I'll see you tomorrow."
Who is this Veronica? And why does she owe Jason?
Jason's p.o.v
I think I could trust Derek he seemed pretty chill, I just hope I am not making a mistake by doing that.
I got home and I went to my daughter's room and she was in the arms of Veronica and Veronica looked like she was crying.
I went over and got on one knee to hug Veronica.
"He's gone. He's really gone." She sobbed into my shoulder trying to muffle the crying trying not to upset Sarah.
"It's gonna be okay." I said and stroked her hair.
This is gonna be a horrible next few weeks.
