It was around seven when the girls and I arrived at Dinah's house that night. I was nervous. I was never good with parties.
Ally held onto my hand, sensing my nervousness as we made it inside. It was loud to say the least, just like any high school party would be. Almost every person had a red solo cup, filled with whatever chosen drink and at least one person to talk to.
Upon arrival, Camila was more than happy to find me and greet me first with a hug. "I'm glad you could make it!" I breathed a laugh as I gently patted Camila's back.
"Come, let's get you a drink!" Camila led me away from me friends, who all watched her go. I glared in betrayal.
Camila entered the living room where a table was set up with punch, assorted sodas, alcohol of course and snacks. Camila poured herself more beer and looked at me expectedly.
"Oh, I'll just have Sprite." Camila snorted.
"Not a fan of beer?" I nodded.
"Neither am I, but most of the teenagers of our high school are so I got my cousin to sneak some in just for this party." Dinah suddenly came out of nowhere, cup in hand and a smile on her face.
"You look good." Dinah says.
"T-Thanks! You too." I stuttered slightly. Dinah giggled.
"I'm glad you and the girls were able to come, I didn't get to see much of you guys all summer." Dinah frowned slightly.
"Ally and Lauren were away, but me and Normani mostly hung out. Honestly I wasn't that busy." And as soon as I said it, I regretted it.
Camila was right beside me, and I saw my excuse backfire on me. I turned to Camila, who only showed hurt in her eyes. I pursed her lips, trying to say something, reach out but Camila turned and walked away.
"Camila-." I let out a sigh. Dinah looked confused. God I hate myself.
"What just happened?" Dinah asked. I shook my head.
"Nothing. Sorry, I'm gonna go." I then ran after Camila, really not wanting to leave Dinah but knowing I had to apologize.
I searched, only to find Camila locked away in the bathroom, crying. My heart crushed, instantly feeling terrible. I knocked softly.
"Just a minute." Camila called.
"It's me." I said weakly. Camila sniffled.
"Go away." Camila huffed.
"Look I'm sorry. I didn't mean to lie. I just-- I didn't know what to say." I said.
"You could've told me the truth." Camila opened the door, showing her red face.
"I'm really sorry, Camila. I honestly didn't know you were trying to reach me." I promised. Camila nodded.
"Okay. I believe you." She says. I sigh in relief.
"But for forgiveness, you have to let me take you one a date." I wasn't taken back from the offer. I knew Camila liked me like that. I just didn't know if I liked her the same.
