I sat in yearbook with Lauren, listening to our assignment for the week. "You and a partner will be choosing an event happening this week and taking pictures for the yearbook. Then choosing as least 25-50 of your best, then we'll narrow it down to the best 10. There's a list of events going on on the front door so as you leave today please sign up for one of them." Ms. Earnest finished, just as the bell rang for next period.

Lauren grabbed my arm as I was packing my stuff away. "I don't have to ask, do I?" I laughed, shaking my head.

"Obviously I won't be your partner." Lauren smacked my side, putting her bag on her shoulders and making way to the door.

Her finger pressed against the paper, scanning each empty space before jabbing her finger repeatedly on a space. "Let's do the football game tonight!" She exclaimed.

I shrugged, looking at the space. I handed her a pencil and let her write our names down. That meant we'd get this done faster and be able to get started sorting tomorrow.

I separated from Lauren and went to Gym. Something my mother thought would be good for me and get me motivated to exercise. Gym was a class where you played games and went to the weight room once a week, not much exercise was put into it.

I entered the change room and saw a few of the girls in my class still changing.  Dinah was in the corner, pulling her shirt over her head. I turned away from everyone, thinking somehow that shielded me. I hated changing in front of others.

As quickly as I could I changed into my gym clothes. I walked back into the gym as I tied my hair up and join everyone else. Ms. Parker held a clipboard in her hands. "Alright, today is going to go a little different. Gym isn't always about exercise and staying fit. At least here it isn't. For the next week we are going to work on mental health."

A few girls groaned. Along with Gym we had a health class once a week. I guess it was useless of us to change today. "Grab a partner that you can tolerate for the next week and we'll dive into our first activity."

I spotted Dinah, who looked and round the room for anyone available. I approached her with a smile. "Want to be partners?" Her smile appeared. "Of course!" She hooked our arms and pulled me closer.

"Now I want you to face your partner and tell them five things you like about them." Dinah smiled, standing in front of me.

"I like your smile. I like how positive you are. I like that you have a sense of humor and I like how you care alot for people you love." I said. How she talked about her family when we hung out had me in awe. Her eyes lit up for the half an hour she talked about them.

Dinah blushed. "Thank you." She cleared her throat. "I like your hair. I like your eyes. I like your style. I like your ability to make any situation better and I like that your not fake, your real."

It was my turn to blush. Taking compliments were something I wasn't used to. "Thanks Dinah." It seemed everyone had done it. Ms. Parker smiled.

"Great! Now tell each other three things you don't like about each other." The room was silent. It seemed like a few people wanted to say something about their partner, but kept their mouths shut.

I had not her bad to say about Dinah. I like everything about her. Though we still had a lot to learn about each other. I seemed like she had nothing to say either. Thank god.

"This is good. Love overpowers hate. Either your scared to say something or you have nothing to say. That's how it should be with everyone." I liked this lesson.

For the rest of the period Ms. Parker demanded we talk to our partner more, learn more about them if we didn't know much. I was perfectly fine talking to Dinah all period.
