Chapter 3

-The cute blondie's POV-

Why was I here? I hated middle school dances. Get it together, I thought to myself. You're here because of him. I was drinking some fruit punch, until...i felt like i got punched. Literally. A hot chick was right next to me. She stooped down for the fruit punch pitcher which made her show off some cleavage. I know I was here for him, but hot girls got me off track. I chugged down my fruit punch, crushed the cup, and threw it away.

I walked up to her and smiled. "Hey, nice boobs," I said before i could stop myself. She flirted back with a smile. "Hey, nice mouth." Before I knew it, we were hiding behind the bleachers and eating each other's lips. After a while, she broke apart and smiled. "I should go. What's your name?" She asked.

"I go by Luke."

"Luke. I like it. Call me Smith."

I scrunched up my nose. "Smith? Isn't that a guy's name? Can I call you Samantha or someting instead?"

She shrugged. "Sure." She peck me one last time and walked into the dancing crowd. I sighed. I was in love with a hot chick. Hot, indeed. I realized I had wasted so much time on this girl that if he was here, he would've killed me. Luckily, he wasn't. I needed to find those two demigods and leave with Samantha.

-Kim Smith's POV-

I looked behind me. Luke was still there. I walked deeper into the crowd and felt myself changing back into my normal self. I needed to find the four and warn them that Luke here for the demigods. I needed to do something. But they disappeared. Please don't be outside already, I prayed. Instead, I found the de Angelos.

Looking at either one was difficult. I knew their future, technically. Bianca de Angelo, the girl who dies for a Mythomagic figurine. I almost sobbed on the spot. I was a normal mortal, so it would be ok to talk to them right? And Nico, oh my gods, Nico. What a terrible future, he held. Instead, I smiled at the kids. "Hi, there! Why aren't you guys dancing?" I asked them.

Nico smiled at me. "We don't feel like it. Why aren't you?"

AWWW. DONT DIE KIM...HANG IN THERE. "I'm looking for my friends. Can you guys help me?"

Bianca looked at me skeptically. "Who are you?"

"I'm Kim Smith. And you two are...?" Bianca didn't want to answer, but Nico did.

"I'm Nico de Angelo, and this is my sister, Bianca de Angelo."

"Nico!" Bianca exclaimed.

I frowned at Nico. "Your sister is right. Don't tell strangers your names."

Nico looked away, sad. I panicked and managed to make a goofy face. "Or else you'll get tickled to death!" I yelled. I tickled both of the kids, and they died with laughter. At the end, I was the one being  tickled. We finally calmed down. "So will you guys help me find my friends?"

Both beamed up at me. "YES!"

"Great! C'mon. They're really nice. They'll like you two goofballs." More laughter. I smiled to myself. I was a natural when it came to small kids.

I took each kid's hand and we walked around. We went outside, and there they were. The four and 'Dr. Thorn' or the manticore. We hid behind a huge boulder for safety. "Stay down," I whispered. They both nodded, confused. I looked as I held their hands, crouched down.

"Where are they?" Dr. Thorn bellowed.

"I already said. I don't know," Percy said. He looked injured but still alive.

"Wait. I can smell them."

I looked down to make sure the kids were still with me. Nope. Nico was running, pointing at the manticore, amazed, and like a good sister, Bianca was running after him. I couldn't help it, but run after them.

The manticore grinned. "Look. They found me."

I looked this monster. "Stay away from them."

He growled at me. "Out of my way, mortal."

"You are not taking them to him."

His eyes narrowed. "You know the General?"

I straightened. "Yup. This mortal knows everything."

I had everything under control, until Annabeth did her thing. Yup. She tackled with her invisibility hat on. All of us; Percy, me, and the de Angelos. I was pissed with this girl. She had no idea what was coming up next. Soon, everyone was attacking the manticore. I just tried my best protecting the de Angelos. Luckily, the Hunter arrived. Unluckily, it was time when Annabeth fell with the monster.

Percy ran to the cliff. "NOOOO!!!"

I knew what was going to happen, so I just turned to the kids. They seemed so frightened. Bianca especially.

"Kim, what was that?" she asked sadly.

I looked at her sadly. It was time. "Bianca. You and your brother are very special. That was a manticore. Greek myths are real. You two are children of a god and a mortal, making a half-blood. Also called a demigod or half-blood."

Nico looked at me. "Our parents died long time ago."

"Maybe. But you guys saw the monster. Demigods attract monsters."

Bianca shuddered. "Nico, do you remember that one time in summer in Washington, D.C.?" Nico nodded.

"Then, are you a half-blood?" she asked. Was I? No way. This wasn't even real.

I shook my head. "I don't think so. If I was, Dr. Thorn would've smelled me or called me anything, but 'mortal'. Some mortals are special. Some get to see through the Mist."

"The thing that make mortals not see the things demigods see?" Nico asked.

I ruffled his hair. "Right, Nico."

Bianca shook her head. "This can't be real." Tell me about it, I thought.

Nico smiled at me. "So the gods are real, too?"

I smiled. "You bet!"

"Woah! Cool!!! I have this game called Mythomag-."

"Nico, no one cares about your stupid game. This is serious."

"Hey. Bianca, c'mon. He's your only family left."

Nico beamed up at me and stuck his tongue at Bianca.

She sighed. "So those are the Hunters?"

"Yup."

"Where's Artemis?"

"The girl in the reddish hair." Then I saw her. Zoe. She was going to die, too, by her own father's hands. I choked back a sob and smiled instead. "Let's go meet my friends."
