Alex’s POV

“Class dismissed!” Mrs. Magarey announced as we heard the bell. I looked up to see my two best friends growl at me in disappointment because I was ditching our hang out today… I had lots of work to do and I needed to finish up by tonight. I was assigned as student councilor this year and it just doubled the amount of work I used to receive from teachers but I was never the type who complained because I found it as a disrespectful manner.

“Are you still thinking of staying late today?” Amy snapped at me which pulled me out of my train of thoughts. “I’m sorry Ames, I love you and all but I really need to finish up, I spent the last two days doing nothing useful for school…” She frowned at me while Emily gave me the puppy face that she thought would change my mind.

These girls were the most important people to me... They always had my back and it made me feel guilty sometimes for not having theirs. “Its fine, we get it… Take care though” Emily said punching me in the shoulder before she left with a grin. I sighed… Today was going to be long…

**

I was done with all my projects and homework; I just needed to finish up with my Biology assignment and head home. It was 2 AM and I could barely open my eyes anymore. The library was like a horror, haunted place which had ghosts. I finished my last sip of coffee, grabbed my bag and left.

I walked by the football court where it would be the nosiest place of the day, the cheerleaders wouldn’t keep their voices down while we were studying and the guys would always wrestle on the field for any lame reason.

I started wondering what I was going to be cooking for myself tonight. Ever since mum passed away when I was 15, my father abandoned me. He left me pounds of money and told me to take care of myself and then… he just left and never returned… I know how it feels to loose someone you love, but it doesn’t mean you should abandon your own daughter! I used to cry a lot until I got over it. Sometimes I feel like my mum is somewhere out there searching for me and that the car accident was all a joke but it’s just me being unrealistic.

So basically, Emily and Amy are my family now, since I don’t have siblings either. I tell them everything and I’m glad I feel comfortable to do so.

I finally made my decision that I’de be making Macaroni and cheese because it was the simplest thing to make and I felt more than exhausted. But all of a sudden, I was out of my thoughts when I heard and felt a large, heavy, thud on the back of my neck. After a few minutes of dizziness, a football bounced by my side and I fell to the ground. The pain was too much for me to handle, I felt as if my muscles and nerves had been torn out and I couldn’t let out a screech from the shock I was in.

I looked up to find someone running to me, it was Blake… Blake Stanford, the richest person in town. The player that every girl wanted to sleep with. The guy who was mean to everyone that sat at the nerd’s table. The guy who judged anyone by their appearance and not by their story.

I couldn’t think anymore… it was killing me more and more. He came to my side and asked “Are you okay!?” with a concerned look and just as I was about to open my mouth to reply, everything blacked out.
