Chapter 9 - I love ice cream

Tala's POV

After I finished wearing the clothes Jonah bought me, I looked at the mirror to see what I look like. I look at my exposed flat stomach, not showing any sign of extra fat, just like my legs. This is the first time I noticed I was super skinny, making me think about how I survived with such little food.

I really liked the wedges, they're really stylish and they boost my height a little. If I could guess, I think that my height is about 5'5 which is average. With these wedges, I'm probably 5'6.

I took a deep breath and went outside of the restroom to go back to the beach to meet Jonah. I walked slowly, not wanting the sand to enter my wedges, so I can walk comfortably. Unfortunately, Jonah was standing a bit far from where the restroom was, so it would take me quite a long time to reach him.

Jonah's POV

I watched her as she went to the restroom to change into the clothes I bought her. While waiting for her, I decided to go return the towels to the cashier. I walked towards the shop and entered through the front doors. I walked up to the cashier and put the towels on her table.

"Here are the towels we borrowed. Thank you very much!" I said politely. "Of course my king." She replied, bowing in respect with a smile on her face. I smiled and then nodded, walking out of the shop.

I went back to the spot we were at, and it seemed like Tala wasn't there yet. Because I was bored, I thought about the moment we met until now. She seemed like she was scared of me, but who could blame her? I was the king and she was the rogue that invaded my territory, which was something I was happy about. From the time we had in the beach, it seemed like she started to trust me and let herself have fun because she knows I want her to have fun and won't punish her in everything she does, unlike those bastards in her old pack.

As I think about our moments more, I heard a distant footstep on sand. I'm really glad that I'm the king, because if you're royalty, you can heighten your senses in your human form which other werewolves cannot do. For other werewolves, you can only heighten your senses if you're in your wolf form.

I looked behind me, and saw Tala in the distance walking slowly towards me. I ran up to her, so she won't have to walk any further. She looked up at me and smiled nervously, earning a chuckle from me.

"Sorry Jonah, I was scared that the sand would get inside the wedges." She said to me. "It's alright Tala. Now, let's go back to the castle, it's getting late." I replied to her. "Okay." She said while turning around. I took her swimsuit from her hands and walked beside her, heading towards the town.

We walked through the town holding hands, with Tala still admiring the town. Suddenly, I heard a low growl, and I found out that it came from her stomach. She was definitely hungry. I totally forgot to give her food in the beach. But to be honest, I told a person in the beach to let no one in the beach because I want to spend time in the beach alone with Tala, and I'm not sure if she wants to socialize with anyone else yet.

"Are you hungry Tala?" I asked her while I stopped walking, making sure that she's hungry. "N-no." She denied while stuttering as she stopped walking to. She was obviously lying, especially from the fact that she stuttered because she was nervous. "Don't lie Tala. Do you see any restaurants you want to go to?" I asked her, giving her choices of restaurants she can go to.

"I-I don't want to eat Jonah." She said to me sternly. "But you're hungry Tala, you have to eat." I said to her. She didn't say anything in reply, instead she shook her head frantically. I just sighed, sad that she didn't want to eat eventhough she's obviously hungry. Here I thought that she forgot about her maybe abused life, but she still haven't. Well, what do I expect? I can't just expect her to turn to normal after one fun activity.
