My Big Break

Chapter 6

I drive home, feeling much better than before.

He said I had a "very distinctive voice," which must mean something.

One week has passed since my callback, and now I am getting nervous.

What if I don't get the part? What would happen then? This is probably a once in a lifetime chance, and what if I blew it?

My mind is racing with thoughts like these when the phone begins to ring.

I don't notice at first, then I realize what is happening and lunge towards the phone, knocking over a glass of water and a bowl of popcorn in the process.

I check the caller ID and see that it is none other than Dan Schneider himself.

I hastily answer the phone and slow my rapid breathing so it does not seem like I was waiting for this call.

"Hello?"

"Ariana?"

"Yes sir, what is it?"

"I am happy to inform you that you have received that part of Cat Valentine."

At this I scream and begin dancing around the room. I am so excited, this is amazing!

"Ahem"

"Oh, yes. Sorry. You were saying?"

"That's fine, it's perfectly understandable to be excited for something this big. The cast is so talented, this show will be a huge hit, I can tell. Now, our first rehearsal will be next Friday at 1:00pm. I expect you'll be there?"

"Yes, of course."

"Ok, we'll see you then. Congratulations, Ariana."

I put down the phone and begin to dance around the room. I can't believe I got a part like this!

I wonder if I'll get to sing some. I'm not the main character, "Tori" but I hope they still give me the chance.

Wondering what I should do next, I run upstairs and turn on my computer. I'm thinking about making a video on my YouTube account, osnapitzari, so my friends will know.

I log on and see comments on my last videos, mostly my covers. I'm glad people think I have a good voice.

I quickly record the video and begin to edit it. After that is done, I post it on YouTube and start to wonder what people will think.

I won't be living mainly in Boca Raton anymore, with just quick visits to LA like I've been doing, I'll have to move there permanently.

I won't be able to see Alexa or any of my other friends anymore.

But I'll make this work, this has been my dream for as long as I can remember, and I'm not going to let a little thing like that stop me now.

Hello.

Look who finally updated. I'm so sorry about the infrequent updates, I'm just really busy with school and all that. But summer is almost here! Only about a week left of school, then I can update more. And sorry about the short chapters. I'll do better, I promise.
