It was a normal day...or so I thought. I woke up, got ready, and headed to school. Little did I know, this day would change my life.

As I walk into the school, I could tell something was different.

A quiet murmur fills the hallways. Just then, my friend Lexi. runs up to me.

"Have you heard?" She asks, gasping for air.

"Nooo..." I say, suddenly eager to find out. "What is it?"

"It's-" she starts to say, but she is interrupted by the intercom.

"Good morning students. Ariana Grande, please come to the office. Thank you." Everyone turns and stares at me. I grab my things and hurry to the office.

I burst into the school office, startling the people already there.

I glance around and see the vice principal, the school secretary, and a woman I have never seen before.

She is wearing a puffy white blouse, a red jacket, a matching red skirt, and black heels. Her chestnut brown hair cascades down her shoulders in buoyant waves.

"Why hello Ariana," the woman says. "I am Laura Targmart, but you can just call me Laura."

"Uh, hi Laura," I say uncertainly.

"I bet you are wondering why we called you here," Laura says with a smile.

"Uh, yeah. Kinda," I reply.

"Well, it has come to our attention," Laura starts, "that you are an actress, is that correct?"

"Yeah. I guess you could say that."

"Good. Well one of my agents has seen you act and sing, was very impressed by your talent, and showed me. And I think that you will be perfect for a part in an upcoming TV show. Would you be willing to audition?"

"Of course!" I yell, trying to contain my excitement.

I am beyond excited. This has always been my dream and now it's coming true!

"I would love to! What would I have to do?"

"Well, nothing much. Just read the script to us and we will do the rest. So what do you say?"

"Yes! I mean, I think I could do that, I'd have to check my schedule, and make sure I don't have a party or anything to go to."

What party? I don't have a life. I just can't have her thinking I'm desperate.

"Ok, well you do that. Here's my card," she says, handing me a business card.

On it is her name, her phone number, an address, and a date written on it.

"So here's all the information you'll need. So just let me know if you will be coming to the audition so I can register you"

"Ok, thank you so much, this is unbelievable."

"Of course dear."

"Well, I'd better be getting to class, bye"

"Goodbye Ariana," Laura says as I exit the room.

Outside the office I lean against the wall. I think to myself, "I am the luckiest girl alive."
