The day had finally ended. I slung my bag over my shoulder and started walking home. 'Today was a pretty nice day. I mean I have a friend and an acquaintance of sorts.... I guess. I didn't think that I would like this new school so much. But I do.' I couldn't help but smile at my thoughts as I walked home.
After quite a few minutes of walking I reached my front door. I took my house key out of my bag and inserted it into the lock and began turning the key. I opened the door, took my key out from the lock and walked inside. I threw my bag onto the floor near the coat rack and shut the door behind me. I headed upstairs to my room and collapsed on my bed. 'I didn't realize how tired I was till now' my eyes got heavy, I was about to drift to sleep but then my phone rang. I jumped up due to being startled. I picked up my phone and answered the call.
"H-hello?" I said into the phone.
("Hey Isaac it's Ella! Do you still wanna hang out?")
"Oh uh yeah sure." I replied
("Great! Where do you wanna hang out at?")
"Er.... um..... I don't know" I've always. been awkward and shy about hanging out with people. So I was quite nervous about talking on the phone with Ella.
("Would you mind if we hung out at your house?)
"Uh yeah sure that's okay I guess"
("Are you sure?)
"Yeah it's fine I just hope that you're ok with my parents not being here"
("Um...yeah that's fine I just really wanna hang out so I really don't mind your parents being gone")
"Ok I'll give you my address then"
I gave Ella my address and she seemed very apprehensive at first but then she seemed to be her happy self again. I'll have to ask her if everything's alright.
("Thanks Isaac! I'll be over in a bit!")
"Ok. I'll see you soon then"
("Yup! See you soon!")
Before I could say bye or something the phone call ended. I let out a deep sigh as I collapsed back on the bed, turning on some MyChemicalRomance music so I could stay awake. I picked up my phone and plugged my earbuds into it, I then walked downstairs so I could be present when Ella knocked. I hate hanging out with people but for some reason Ella makes me feel calm. And safe. Like I could tell her anything and she'd still be my friend. I sat on the couch listening to my music with one earbud out so I could hear the door. A few minutes had passed and there was a soft knock at the door. I took my earbuds out and placed my phone on the couch, beginning to walk over to the door. I answered the door and there stood Ella, and a very tall, long blonde haired woman with deep brown eyes like Ella's. This woman was dressed like she was getting ready to go party or something. I was about to say something when the lady next to Ella spoke. "I'm Ella's older sister Hilary." Her nose crinkled with disgust at the word sister. He stared at her nails of even looking down once. Ella stood there holding one arm across her chest gripping onto the other arm. Ella was staring at the ground, her brows furrowed as if she was on the brink d tears. I looked up at Hilary to see her looking away from her nails and down at Ella. Her eyes rolled to the back of her head, disgust and hatred was written all over her features. Hilary then looked at me, once again rolling her eyes. She then looked back at her nails and started to speak. "Ok look loser, our parents are fighting and Ella needs a place to stay for the night-" Ella looked up immediately, turning her head sharply towards her sister. "What are you doing Hilary?" Ella asked through gritted teeth. Hilary only ran a hand through her hair and continued on with what she was saying, ignoring Ella completely. "I'm heading out with my boyfriend for a couple of days so if Ella could stay here it would be a real big help" she finished her sentence and shoved Ella into the doorway. "You can't just do that to him! We only just met today Hillary!" Ella yelled. Hilary walked out of the door, "See you later moron!" Hilary exclaimed, flashing Ella and I a peace sign before hoping into her car and speeding off. I turned to Ella who was now on the floor sobbing into her knees. "What's wrong? Are you ok?" I asked concerned, crouching down next to Ella. She was only able to squeak out a 'no' in response. I pulled her in for a hug, holding her tightly. Yes I'm an introvert, and yes I had only become friends with Ella today but none of that mattered at the moment all that mattered was Ella. Ella hugged back and cried into my chest. I held her close, twirling her short blonde locks with my fingers very slowly. We stayed like this for quite awhile. Her cries had started to soften, now all that could be heard was soft whimpers and hiccups. I breathed in a breath I didn't know I was holding. "E-Ella?" I spoke softly. There was no response from her so I continued. "I don't know what your situation is but I'd like to help. In anyway I can." I continued to twirl her hair. Thinking of something else to say. "Th-that's sweet Isaac. But you shouldn't worry about my problems." Ella sniffed. I hesitated for a moment before speaking. "My parents won't mind if you stay the night." I managed to speak out. Ella looked up at me. Her eyes seemed to be asking if I was serious or not. "They won't mind. I promise." I promised. "Thank you. Thank you so much." She sobbed again. I held her tightly. 'To think that I had only met her today...' my thoughts started trailing off as she wept. 'This girl is gonna change my life, she's gonna change it in a good way. I know it'(A:N)
