(A:N) (so the song above is proven to help with stress, anxiety and better sleeping. Called Weightless by Macaroni Union.)
"Well hello" my mom stated, confused but politely. "Hey mom, this is my friend Ella. She'll be staying the night." I replied lookin up at her and mouthing an 'please, I'll explain later' my mother nodded with a smile. Walking over to Ella she introduced herself, they shook hands then my mother let us be.
Grabbing the controllers we began to play. Ella went from this sweet, little thing to a screaming, hardcore, competitive little thing. It made me laugh, she would apologize if she accidentally shot a member of her team, she would blow short blonde strands of hair out of her face while button spamming. "I thought you said you've played Call of Duty before?" I chuckled. "I have but it's been awhile." Her upbeat, voice trilled. Her eyes were fixated on the screen, trying to stay focused. I couldn't help but laugh it was just so funny! The way she apologized and got excited when she landed a kill... it was the most amazing thing to watch. As the vibrant colors of the sun faded, so did our excitement. Playing one last round of video games we decided to head off. Walking upstairs to my room there was a pair of pajamas and some clothes for Ella, laid out neatly on the foot of my bed. "Thank you" Ella whispered. "You guys didn't have to do this and go all these lengths for me." She continued sheepishly. "Ella, it's not a problem." I assured, walking over to her and putting a hand on her shoulder. She looked up at me and flashed a slight smile. "Thank you." She said again. She grabbed the pajamas on the bed, "May I ask where the bathroom is?" "Down the hall, two doors down." "Thank you." I nodded and began setting up my bed. I pulled a sleeping bag out from my closet and grabbed a pillow off my bed.
Once I had finished with that I changed and crawled into the sleeping bag, playing games on my phone.
Ella came back in shortly after. "Hey dork, why am I not sleeping on the floor?" She inquired. "The beds much comfier." I stated simply, glancing up from my phone. "But it's your bed." "Yeah but you are my guest." I made sure to put emphasis on guest. Ella huffed slightly and walked over to the bed. Laying down, she got on her phone and began calling someone. I didn't want to be a jerk and listen to her conversation so I took the opportunity and decided to get some water bottles. After a few minutes I
slowly walked back up to my room. Ella was off the phone and now reading on it or playing games or something. I handed her a water bottle and sat down on my sleeping bag.
"Sorry about that." She apologizes looking up from her phone and down at me. "No biggie." I shrugged, looking up towards her. A grin formed on Ella's lips, I gave her a similar grin in return.
I turned back towards my phone, opening up my music app and plugging in my earbuds. Before I could push play on the song Ella let out a deep sigh that she seemed to be holding in.
"Hey, is everything alright?" I asked, concern laced through my voice. Ella turned on her side facing towards me, gripping the pillow tightly. "Yeah I think so." She responded uncertainly. "Do you want to talk about anything?" I got up from my sack on the floor, walking over to the edge of the bed and sitting down. "Kind of, yes" Ella shakily admitted, slowly moving her hand to meet mine. I ran my thumb over her knuckles encouraging her to go on. Slowly, Ella began to speak. She started to open her mouth but the words seemed to be caught in her throat. "It's okay, you don't have to tell me now, just know when you are ready to talk I'm always more that happy to listen." I smiled at her. Ella's golden orbs had a film of tears developed, threatening to spill. I took note of this and slowly stood, kissing the top of her head. "Goodnight." I whispered it was barely audible but she still heard it. "Goodnight Isaac" she whispered back laying her head into the pillow.
As I laid down on the floor putting an earbud in, pushing play on the song that helps me get to sleep; I heard a quiet "thank you" from Ella's mouth. I smiled, rolling over and letting the soft music take control as sleep became inevitable. 'I'm glad she knows that she can talk to me.'(A:N) Phew okay guys!
