As I woke, Anthony was sitting next to me again, holding my hand. But that was when I noticed the same number tattoo that I saw on Kenzie, but with the number 143 in the same place. I couldn't help myself but ask. ¨What is the tattoo on your and Kenzie's arm?¨ As Anthony stared at me, he started to talk after a bit, as if he was deciding to tell me or not. ¨When we were held captive, the ones that would be tested on were given numbers as tattoos and that's how they kept track of us.¨ Anthony stopped hesitating.

"So why don't I have one?" I asked. Anthony hesitated again, looking at me over and over again.

¨Take this gently ok, he said to me. Are you sure you want to know? maybe we should talk about this another day.¨ He finished.

¨Oh I Wanna know. I said to him. "The more I find out, the easier it is for me to find out what to do next.¨ ¨

Okay, so the ones that they were keeping were to be tagged, and the ones that they didn't mark, were the ones that they would kill. That's why we tried to escape. I promise I won't let anything happen to you.¨

I honestly had no words, I stared at him whilst he stared at me. And then I broke the silence with my final question, ¨So if they meant to kill me, am I the reason they want to kill us all?¨ Anthony stood up, kissed me on my forehead and said, ¨It's not your fault that we are different, and it's not your fault that they are after us. I made the decision to run. I promise I won't let anything to happen to you.¨ He said again as his hand slid out of mine, and he walked out the door.
