¨What? James! I swear I told you to load this thing!

¨NO! Uncle Carl, you told trunk monster to do that!

¨I don't care who it was!¨

¨That's not fair!¨

While the boy was arguing with himself Kenzie made her way over to him, knocked the gun out of his hand, picked up some cord, and wrapped him up.

¨Oh, you guys have powers? I do to! Are you Wizards?¨ The boy looked up at her hopefully.

¨I'm sorry," Kenzie said giggling. "Did you just say you have powers? That is the most ridi-¨

The boy ripped from the cords, and shoved his way past us, to the outside. It hurt so bad, like getting hit with a paintball gun a thousand times with no protection. We got up and made our way outside to find the boy standing next to our car.

"I needed juice for my wizard wand and I didn't even get any. And to top it all off, as a side effect, I got this stupid shitty ability.¨ As the boy spoke he touched the car with one finger and flipped over the vehicle, crushing it and ruining the rest of what we had.

"Um Em?" Kenzie tried to get my attention subtly, elbowing me.

"What?" I mumbled.

"What was that?" We leaned in close, as close as we could. We didn't want the boy to hear us.

¨If that kid has...¨ Kenzie paused, not saying anything more.

¨You know, then we can't just leave him here. If Max finds him, who knows what he will do to get answers."

¨So what do you think we should do Em? Take him with us?¨

¨Why not? It can't be that bad.¨ We both looked at the boy staring at us.

¨Fine.¨

I walked over to the boy, and Kenzie followed.

¨What do you say about,¨ I paused trying to make sure I had convinced him. "a little adventure?"

¨So you say you need my expertise!" The boy said getting excited. "Someone to navigate! Someone, to lead! I'm on it, let me go get my army! Be right back!¨

¨I knew this was a bad idea¨ Kenzie said. While the boy was in his fort We waited outside talking.

¨Kenzie, when we were held at gunpoint you said calm down Liam. Who's Liam?"

¨I honestly don't know.¨

¨He could be someone, you know before our memory was wiped. Did anything ever come to you? You know, any memories?¨ Kenzie stared at me for a while, and then finally spoke up.

¨There was this dream that I had, while we were with Max. I was playing at a lake with this boy, I couldn't really make out who it was. We were splashing each other, and I was laughing and yelling 'Stop it Liam.' A single tear ran down Kenzie's pale cut up face. She quickly wiped it off.¨That's all I know. Sorry I don't know why I'm crying.¨ She laughed, but it wasn't a hearty laugh, it was an empty laugh, like she was missing something.

¨I'm sorry." I said trying not to bother her too much with it.

The boy came running out of the shed back in full armor carrying a big bag full of supplies.

¨I'm ready! Which one of you is carrying my bags?¨

"Where's that 'army' you were talking about?" I asked

"It's right here." He motioned his arm at air.

¨This is going to be one hell of a adventure.¨ Kenzie said sarcastically.

"Let's go! We've got to pick up the pace if we want to be able to conquer the world!"

Kenzie looked back over at me, chuckling to herself. "Can we at least tape his mouth shut?"

"Let's just get going." I thought for a moment. "We can't let Max catch up to us."
