Steph's POV

I wake up to the sound of my annoying mom telling me to get up. I stare at my ceiling for a solid 2 minutes, and sit up in my bed, then get up. I walk into my bathroom and look at myself in the mirror and start to brush my teeth. Once I finish, I start looking for my outfit for the day in my walk in closet and I pick out a black dress and black shoes.

Then I washed my face. I got undressed and went into the shower.

I got out, then dried off. I heard my mom yell my name.

Mom: STEPHANIE!!! HURRY UP WE ARE GOING TO BE LATE!

I quickly got what I was wearing and put it on and went back into my bathroom and started putting on light makeup.

My mom and I are about to get to her friend Candy's house after a short drive. As we pull up in the driveway I see a boy on the roof. We get out of the car with some food and walk in to see only a few people inside the house. Candy comes out of nowhere and says

Candy: Hey Steph and Lilo, Steph, my son Diego, is up on the roof patio so go up there and help him set up for the children area, the guest's are coming in a few hours.

I nod politely and find my way up there. When I get up there I see him and I melt.

He looked up at me and took off his headphones, we start talking.

Diego: Are you Steph or whatever
Steph: Y-yea i'm Steph
Diego: Cool, i'm Diego, how old are you
Steph: I'm 17, what about you
Diego: 18

After that there is awkward silence and he grabs some thing from his pocket. It was a vape. He starts smoking and I say

Steph: Dude, that's so bad for you
Diego: Cool i'll just take an even bigger hit now. See i'm fine. Now be quiet
Steph: No you can't tell me what to do
Diego: Well I just did
Steph: We need to do what your mom said to do
Diego: Ugh can you go get some coloring books and crayons from the closet next to the bathroom downstairs
Steph: Yea sure

As I walked down to the closet I was wondering what he meant. I look around the huge house for the closet and I happen to see his room. I walk in and start looking around and I see a frame that has him but younger and a woman and the frame says "mom". I pick it up to look at it. He looked so happy. He was l
so cute. Then suddenly he walks in and yells

Diego: PUT THAT DOWN RIGHT NOW AND GET THE FUCK OUT OF MY ROOM
Steph: I'm sorry

I put it down and run out. He comes out of the room and few seconds later and locks the door. He then grabs the coloring books and crayons and goes back up to the patio. I follow him and then help him set up. Not one word spoken at all. Later we started to talk again and we became friends. He was the sweetest guy i've met.

Diego: So can I have your number and snapchat or is it weird to ask?
Steph: It's fine my number is 603-###-### and my snapchat is stephjc
Diego: Haha thanks

He texts me then adds me on snapchat and I add him to my contacts. Then he asks me for a picture of me to make my contact picture, so I send him one.

•7 minutes till 2017

I was standing on the balcony alone while there were people standing around waiting for 12 o'clock as Diego came next to me.

Diego: Hey you look lonely and cold
Steph: I am both of those things
Diego: Well i'm here now

He took off his black hoodie and gave it to me then put his arm around me.

Steph: Aww thanks Diego
Diego: Your Welcome..there is something I want to ask
Steph: Okay
Diego: Well I wanted to know if you wanted to be my midnight kiss cause like all my friends and have someone and I don't sooo you wanna do it
Steph: Um..sure
Diego: okay

As the clock strikes 12 midnight, he leans in and I stop him.

Steph: i'm sorry i can't

I walk away and go to my mom.

Steph: Mom i'm tired and we have been here all day so can we please leave?
Mom: Not yet we can leave at 12:30 though..okay?
Steph: Fine

Frustrated, I walk downstairs and grab a soda. I see my best friend, Anthony, sitting on a couch watching the ball drop all alone so I walk over too him, and he immediately hugs me.

Steph: Whats up bitch!
Anthony: STEPH! I MISSED YOU!
Steph: I missed you too!
Anthony: I didn't know you were gonna be here
Steph: Sadly I am and I met a guy who is the cutest guy ever but i think he's a fuckboy
Anthony: Since when does goody goody Stephy call anyone a fuckboy
Steph: I spent the whole day with him
Anthony: He can't be that bad.

I continue to tell him about things about Diego and suddenly my mom comes down to me. My mom said hello to Anthony and we continue our conversation.

Soon enough 12:30 comes and my mom and I go home.

As I was getting undressed for bed I realized I still had his hoodie on and I take it off. It smells like him. I throw it in a corner and get ready for bed. For the rest of the night I can't stop thinking of him. His beautiful hair and eyes.
