Touched

The guards shove in yet another vampire meant to die tonight, this one particularly angering me. He's in his early twenties and seems to have been shifted recently, as his eyes are still switching between his vampire green and dull, human brown. His hair is a similar brown to his human eyes, and his body shows that he works out. Well, I guess some ladies will miss him.

I stand from my throne, my cloak falling behind me as I step down towards this vile vampire. "Your Majesty, Drake Florence has been accused of touching one of your beloved," one of the guards announces. As if I don't already know that.

I watch as the young vampire kneel down, facing the ground as he tries to claim his innocence.  "Y-your Majesty, m-my apologies, but I didn't-"

Before he could continue stammering any longer, I use my staff and place it under his chin, bringing head head up to make eye contact with me. "No buts," I murmur lowly, my eyes red with anger. My eyes make swirls of red and green as I start using my hypnotism. "Which one of my lovely harem did you touch?"

"I did not touch any of the Royal harem," Drake answers, his eyes glazed over as he speaks complete truth.

"Who did you touch?" I ask inquisitively. I bring his face closer to mine, looking for an answer.

"The human girl whose heart aches and no longer speaks." I release him from my hypnotism as I think back to the one human girl I have ever met.

"Khione's alive?" I murmur, not realizing I said it aloud until he answers me.

"I-I can take you there if you wish," Drake says rather enthusiastically, as if this will get him out of Death's short path.

I face him, conflicted about what I should do. Should I see her? I'd be putting myself at risk and I could be assassinated.

Oh wait. I'm too powerful for that. I laugh aloud at my stupid thoughts before smirking down at the vampire. "Sure. Take me to her."

----------------------------------------------

After Drake points out which window belonging to her, I rip his head off and start climbing, wanting to see her. I haven't seen her in years, and I was beginning to question whether or not she's alive.

When I shared my blood with Khione, I had no idea what it truly meant. I had no idea it meant marriage. My father soon found out and had the Vampire Seer suppress the marriage, and I could no longer find her.

Now that we are only a window apart, though...

I silently slide the window open before stepping inside, taking a look around the room. Cherrywood floors, black walls, white ceiling with a black chandelier, one dresser with two pictures on top and a connecting bathroom... with a chair blocking the door? Anyway, in a corner by the window, a teenager sleeps in a purple bed by the window I entered through. I step closer to her and move some of her blonde hair out of her face, only to see green hand marks all over her skin. A human touched her in a dirty way. From the color of the prints, she was disgusted by it every second. I examine her face one more time to see a beautiful face sleeping soundly, and my heart just melts for her.

"Khione," I whisper ever so delicately. "I found you." I gently touch her cheek and all of a sudden the green marks go away, and she relaxes more in her sleep. "I'm sorry I took so long."

Slowly I put my arms under her legs and her torso, gently picking her up. Still wrapped up in her blanket, Khione slowly wakes up at the motion and looks up at me, confusion written on her face.

I immediately adjust my grip to make sure I'm not gripping onto her too hard. "Am I hurting you in any way?" I ask, wanting to make sure. I honestly don't know how much vampire strength a human can take anymore. She just shakes her head no, bringing her hand up to touch my face. I smile at the gesture before suddenly someone enters the room, a muscular man with brown hair and human green eyes. He sees me immediately and I just smirk at his angered face before using my vampire speed to leave the house the same way I came in.

I pause for a second when my feet touch the ground and Khione clings onto me, surprised at what I can do. I smirk before murmuring "hang on tight." And sprinting back to my home.

The ride was fast and a little bumpy, but I could tell Khione enjoyed it. Despite all this, one thing lingered in my mind. What does her voice sound like now? I look down at the fragile girl in my arms and decided that after I just kidnapped her, there is less possibility that I will find out.

I reach the castle and sprint up to the guest bedroom next to mine, a room I had prepared years ago for her. I wonder if it's a bad thing I had done this oh so long ago? Will it come off as weird? Most likely. I just won't tell her then. I open the door to her room and set her down gently, a little nervous of how she will react to this new arrangement for her.

She looks inside for a second before asking in ASL "So, am I living here now?"

I sigh before answering "only if you want to." I scratch the back of my neck nervously, hoping she'll stay.

"You know ASL?" She asks in her hand signs.

"Yes, I was taught when I was young. I found it hard to make the signs and be elegant about it at the same time." She smiles at my comment, looking into the room again.

"I hardly know you," she signs again.

"We knew each other when we were little, but my dad made us move away," I answer with certainty.

She thinks again before signing "what about my stuff? Will they be brought over?"

"Whatever you want from there we can retrieve for you."

She considers this, thinking softly to herself before signing "I would love to stay here."

I smile and hug her, happy she'll stay. "I would love to have you here." She hugs back and we stay like that for awhile before she enters her room as I leave to mine.
