"Is everything clear?" Peter asks as soon as I get to the entrance of the sewer. I nod and quickly pull him aside before the others can notice me. I didn't want them asking questions, and if they saw Peter leave with me they would get suspicious.
"I need your help." I whisper. Peter's eyes narrow but he simply nods. He glances behind me before he turns around and starts walking deeper into the sewer. I glance back before I follow him, we needed to get this done and fast. If anyone noticed that he was missing it would send everyone into a panic, even though everyone had been calm up until this point.
"What's going on?" He asks as he continues walking. I run to catch up to him and think for a second before finally responding.
"There's two bodies, Guardians , I need you to help me." I answer.
"Do what exactly?" He asks giving me a sideways glance.
"Move them...hide them, we just need to get them out of site." I reply keeping my eyes forward. We walk in silence until we reach the bodies. I look away as I notice the red ring that circled them. They were bleeding out and if we didn't move them soon the water wouldn't dissolve their blood. I move forward to grab one of their legs when I feel a hand on my shoulder. I look up to find Peter staring at the bodies.
"Did you kill them?" He asks solemnly.
"No." I reply instantly.
"They were like this when I found them." I add. Peter lets out a breath before nodding. He runs his hand through his hair and looks behind me.
"Somebody must have gone through here then." I nod knowing exactly where his mind was going.
"They're probably far off, but just in case we'll be extra careful. No flashlights. Everyone moves when I say so." He nods in response. I feel Peter's eyes boring into my back as I return to the task. As I reach for the soldier's feet again I ignore the lie swirling around in my mind.
