Chapter 1

  As the heat from the morning sun warmed the Earth, Seraphina, Katrina, and Leonardo
gathered under their favorite Willow tree in Katrina's front yard. The air was humid from the midnight rain, and the three could see their reflections in the scattered puddles.

Seraphina - a pale, beautiful girl, with rich auburn hair, who doesn't find amusement in anything but mysteries. Katrina - her skin, a tawny color, her hair, a dark chocolate color, who loves her friends dearly. And Leonardo - fair skin and vibrant curly blonde locks, who invents more than he thinks.

The year - 2033. The date - August 10.

"Come on, Katrina! It's your birthday! Don't you want to do something other than reading with Seraphina under a willow tree?" Leonardo hollered. 

"I don't know about you, but reading is one of my desired hobbies on a nice summer day." Katrina mumbled, not keeping her eyes off the book. 

"Reading in dim light will permanently damage your eyes, Kat. You are currently sitting under shade." Leonardo announced proudly.

"Actually, Leonardo, I can prove that statement to be false. Reading under shade will NOT permanently damage your eyes, but rather keep your eyes strained for a certain amount of time." Seraphina nagged.

"Ha!" Kat explained, leaving her book for a second to stick her tongue out at Leo.

Suddenly, Sera makes her way to Kat's front porch. As Kat and Leo are used to Sera's sudden behavior, they follow her.

"Now what have you discovered, Mrs. Sherlock?" Leo mocks.

"Take a look for yourself." Sera replied, pointing to a mysterious box on Kat's porch, which seemed to be moving.
