Chapter 35

I woke up the next morning with the sun beaming in my face. I slowly opened my eyes, taking in everything around me, also processing everything that happened last night. I closed my eyes and rolled over, placing my hand on what I thought would be Augusts' body. I frowned when I felt his spot was empty. I opened my eyes, sadden by the fact that I was alone. I sat up in bed and glanced over at his spot. A white piece of paper sat on his pillow, im guessing for me to read.

I smirked a little and picked up the paper and read it outloud. "Had some business to handle, be back with breakfast in a hour." I chuckled and sat the paper back down, thinking how the hell he went out to get breakfast in crutches. I grabbed my phone and rolled out of bed. I quickly dialed Kerri's number and placed the phone to my ear.

KERRI: "Hello?"

ME: "Hey, sorry I didn't return your call last night, I uh..I got busy."

Kerri chuckled.

KERRI: "Busy with August?"

ME: "Maybe."

I threw on Augusts' tshirt and made my way down to the kitchen.

KERRI: "I knew it! hold on."

I frowned a little and waited.

I heard Kerri's voice and another line ringing. I chuckled to myself, knowing that she was calling Ellis on three-way.

ELLIS: "Yes sahara, what is it chile?"

KERRI: "I got the infamous Simone on the line."

ELLIS: "Where the hell you been at? We been calling yo line for the longest!!"

I chuckled.

ME: "I know, I know, I got a little caught up last night."
ELLIS: "Mhmm, I hope you mean caught up with Trey."
KERRI: "Nope, it's August."

She said in a sigh.

ELLIS: "Oh god not again, you slept with him???"

I paused before answering.

ME: "Yeah..and I know it's wrong but-"

ELLIS: "You damn right it's wrong! There ain't no buts."
I sighed and opened up the fridge, taking out a carton orange juice.

KERRI: "Ellis is right, you made another mistake."

ME: "Im really not in the mood for a lecture you guys, besided me and Trey aren't even in a relationship, we're just casual."

I opened up the cabinet and pulled out a glass.

ELLIS: "Mhm, are you sleeping with Trey too?"

ME: "I haven't in awhile."

I poured the juice in the glass and sat it back in the fridge.

KERRI: "Well did y'all atleast use a condom?"

ME: "....No, we weren't using them when we were together before, so what's the difference now?"

Kerri sighed.

KERRI: " Listen, I hope your coming into the shop today cause we needed to have a intervention for you."
I chuckled.

ME: "Alright, I'll be there around 12."

I hung up the phone and grabbed my glass off the counter. I trailed into the living room and sat down on the couch. I scrolled through twitter and sipped on my juice when I noticed a piece of glass on the floor. "The hell.." I mumbled. I traced the floor with my eyes and noticed a trail of glass coming from Augusts' balcony door. I stood up slowly, trying not to step on any glass as I walked outside to the balcony. "How the hell did this happen?" I asked examining the hole in the glass door.

I walked back inside, follwing the other scattered pieces of glass that led behind one of the couches. I made it around the couch to see a foot sticking out from behind it. My heart immediately started to beat out of my chest. My phone was to far away from me to reach and I was to scared to try and run and grab it. I slowly picked up one of the vases off the table beside me and slowly made my way around the rest of the couch.

I held the vase up in the air, getting ready to strike, when I froze in place. I dropped the vase to the ground, sending broken glass flying everywhere. I stood there stunned, unsure if what I was seeing was real. I opened my mouth, trying to find the words to speak. "....Tyrese?!?" I yelled.

Obviously I like cliff hangers lol .
