Two months later....
It's baby shower time! Chantelle and Shay have been putting their creative minds together for the baby shower. Shay made arrangements for the baby shower to be held at an exclusive private venue downtown. Chantelle spent most of her time deciding on the perfect dress to wear. At times she became upset because she couldn't fit her regular clothes. She sat on the floor near her closet, looking through the drawers to find a dress that would fit but nothing worked.
"Damn, Chantelle. You're throwing clothes all over the room. Keep calm, you will find something."
Chantelle wobbled to get up. She reached to grab her phone off the bed.
"You heard from Devin? Cause Trae ain't even bother to text me since they been out," Chantelle said scrolling angrily through her phone.
"No, he told me that they were out watching the game and getting something to eat though," Shay said.
"And that doesn't bother you," Chantelle cut her eyes at Shay.
"Chantelle, you need to chill with that," Shay chuckled.
"How am I supposed to chill Shay, how? I can barely go out. My ankles are swollen, boobs swollen. I get in pain often, and then I throw up. I can't just have fun anymore," Chantelle whined. "Fuck it, I'm fixing to call him."
"Chantelle...no, don't"
"Hey baby," Trae answered the phone smoothly.
"Hey baby? That's all you have to say?! I been worried sick about you," Chantelle yelled into the phone.
"Chill ma, I'm with Devin. I'll be home to take care of you in a few."
"Chill?! What the hell?! What's with everybody telling me to chill? I am very chilled. I just wanted to give a damn about you but no, that doesn't matter to you. You're just out having the time of your life with you and your niggas. Hope y'all having fun----"
"Devin, I'm fixing to head out bro. She going crazy over there," Trae said in the background. "I'm on my way love."
"I'm on my way love,"Chantelle mocked before hanging up.
Shay sat back and laughed at how Chantelle's hormones sent her into a spiral. Trae knocked on the door and Shay went to answer. Chantelle was still yelling at nonsense upstairs.
"What the hell wrong with her," Trae chuckled.
"That's your girl. You better go check her out because I can't take it anymore," Shay said as she watched him walk up the stairs.
"What you in here complaining about?" Trae laughed.
"Ain't shit funny Trae," Chantelled snarled at him.
"Calm that down 'lil mama," he smirked.
"Little? I'm far from little! Don't you see me?! You did this to me!"
Trae had the most confused look on his face. By him not saying anything, did not make the issue better. Chantelle started crying. Trae walked over to her and kissed all over her face, then bent down to kiss her stomach.
"You're beautiful ma, stop worrying about how you look," he wiped away her tears.
Chantelle nodded to agree with him. Then, she picked up her laptop and sat on the bed.
"What you been up to today baby," Trae asked.
"Planning the baby shower with Shay."
"How's that coming along?" Trae began massaging her feet.
"I can't find anything to wear, nothing fits me anymore," she sighed.
Trae reached into his pocket and took out his wallet. He pulled out $800 and told her to get whatever she needed so far as an outfit and the rest of the items for the baby shower. Chantelle hugged and kissed him. She was so happy about how productive he was being.
"What's going on up here? I don't hear her yelling anymore," Shay chuckled at the doorway.
"She calm now. You see all that in her hand?"
Shay walked closer to bed. "Okay then, I see you. You know Trae, you sort of like my bro right---"
Trae laughed, "Shay, don't start. I already told her that should cover most of what y'all need."
"You damn right it will," Shay laughed, "But guess what I came up with an idea. How would y'all feel like about doing a gender reveal at the shower?"
"Gender reveal, what the hell is that," Trae asked.
Chantelle and Shay stared at him.
"A gender reveal is where you reveal the gender of y'all child to yourselves and the rest of the family," Shay explained.
"I'm all for it," Chantelle exclaimed
"It's gonna be a boy. I'm already knowing," Trae smiled.
"You don't know that," Shay rolled her eyes.
"Yeah I do. Because every time the baby kick, I can tell," he laughed.
"Trae, you ain't got no sense," Chantelle grinned.
"You love me though," he said kissing her thigh.
