Big Hit Entertainment (빅히트엔터테인먼트) is a private South Korean entertainment company established on February 1st of 2005 by Bang Si-hyuk that specializes in K-pop, Dance, R&B, and Hip Hop. It currently manages the musical duo Homme and idol group BTS.
Bit Hit Entertainment is a private South Korean entertainment company that got its big break in 2013 when BTS, one of the most successful Korean music groups to date, debuted. Prior to BTS' debut, Big Hit went through a bit of a dry spell and was falling into debt; their last hope was Bangtan, and they did not disappoint.
Big Hit Entertainment is known for their more gentle hold on their artists, allowing creative freedom and social communication to a greater extent than most larger Korean entertainment companies; not to say that their artists are completely free to do as they wish - contracts still have parameters to be met after all.
LIke most entertainment companies, Big Hit pushes their employees (artists and otherwise) to their limits, and sometimes, far beyond. They do, however, allow their workers to take time off to breathe and relax and be humans, even if it's not nearly as often as they should.
As a company, Bit Hit has sponsored the solo careers of artists Lim Jeong Hee, BTS's RM (Kim Namjoon), AGUST D (Suga // Min Yoongi), Lee Changmin, Lee Hyun, and the acting career of Kim Taehyung (BTS' V).
As far as groups go, Big Hit has sponsored BTS, Homme, 8EIght, and GLAM, and even entered a joint contract for JYP Entertainment's 2AM.
As far as notable trainees go, Big Hit has trained GFRIEND members Enhua (Jung Eun-bi) and SinB (Hwang Eun-bi); Show Me The Money 3's IRON; Topp Dogg members Kidoh (Jin Hyo-sang) (former), and A-Tom (Kim Sang-gyun // current member); KNK members Seongjun (Park Seung-jun) and Inseong (Jung In-Seong); Nine Muses' Sojin (Jo So-jin); Ladies Code's Zuny (Kim Joo-mi); and finally, Produce 101 season 2 contestant Ahn Hyung-Seob.
