I tried to shake the hurt from my sister not seeing me off, not texting me, and now she was hanging out with Connor. Fucking amazing. My mood was less than great.

It was after 6, and my stomach was growling. I tried to remember how to get downstairs. Left, right, right, downstairs? Eventually I made it to the main hallway where the balcony met the stairs. The kitchen was on the left going down. I heard the murmur of a few different voices, them a burst of laughter. I quietly opened the door, and instantly felt the peering gaze of a dozen werewolves. Fucking hell.

The conversation died down, and all was silent. I made no eye contact, and sat at the seat nearest the door at the end of the long island.

"Well, your first impression needs work, but I like you already." I heard a voice chime. A girl sat across from me. She had dark hair the same color as Lucian's. Her skin was light, and her face was covered in freckles. Her green eyes peered into mine.

"Does sassy run in the family? Lucian already beat you to it, but he my guest." I held her gaze. She burst out laughing, and I smiled. "Mom, you were right. She's perfect for him." She glanced over at Wendy, who was standing next to the stove. She winked, and returned to cooking in some large pan. It smelled like chicken. My nostrils flared. I was starving.

"Here." A tall man handed me a banana. He was blonde, with light blue eyes. He smiled. "This will tide you over until the alfredo is done. Also, I'm Xavier. You can call me X." His smile was sweet. I happily ate the banana, happy to finally have some food.

"He's your beta. You need anything, he's your guy. Just don't ask him for fashion advice. He's color blind." Jenna giggled. Xavier scoffed. "Only blue and green. And only certain shades. Jesus." He folded his arms and took a seat next to me. I looked down at the other weres at the table. There were a few more guys. A set of very tan twins, a short buff guy that looked like he could bench press a car, and two females besides Wendy and Jenna. A girl with medium perm curls of dirty blonde was staring at me like I was a ghost. I looked down to avoid her eyes.

"So, big brother tells me that you're not exactly dressed for the occasion of, well, cold." Jenna said softly. The rest of the room had resumed conversation, and I felt comfortable with the background buzz.

"It doesn't get too cold in our territory. Usually stays in the 60's range and we definitely see 90's in summer time. I can already tell it's colder here. I have goosebumps." I laughed as I ran my hand along my forearm, tracing the bumps.

"Perhaps a jacket?" A voice behind me called. A shiver shot from my head to my core, and I was instantly feeling the ache between my legs. Lucian walked up behind me and draped a large fleece lined jacket over my shoulders. He held his hand on my arm over the jacket. The room grew instantly quiet. I felt all eyes on me again, and I hated it. Even as the Alpha's daughter, I wasn't downright stared at.

"I think it's a little big for her." Jenna said flatly, breaking the silence. The rest of the room grew buzzed with conversation again. Lucian's hand slowly rubbed my bicep, and I was slightly calmer. I turned to look toward the girl that was staring at me, and she looked even angrier now since Lucian was in the room. That's her, that's the bitch.

I leaned back into Lucian's hard body, leaning my head against his chest. I allowed him to drape his arm over my chest that was covered by the jacket. The dirty blonde bitch scowled at me, and turned out of the room. I snickered.

The other female beside her was a sight to behold. Her hair was in a purple pixie cut, and she had tattoos from the neck down. They were various colors and tribal prints, and I saw her neck was a wrapped tree line. It looked amazing. I stared in awe, until she looked at me and smiled.

"I'm Roxie, by the way." She said, laughing. I blushed. "I get stared at a lot, it's okay." She walked over next to Xavier, and hopped into his lap. Her arms draped over his neck, and she curled into him. They were mates.

"No, I didn't mean disrespect. Your tattoos are amazing. I want more." She raised a brow. "You have tattoos?" She asked. I nodded. "She has a very long rose vine that runs down her back." Lucian chimed in. I leaned forward, annoyed. Because apparently I couldn't answer my damn self. Asshole.

I stormed out of the kitchen and back upstairs towards where I thought where our room was. I have always been directionally challenged, and this time was no different. I had taken a wrong turn, and ended up at the end of a hallway. I remember Wendy saying they were game rooms. I heard someone tell from inside, and I decided to give it a try.

I opened the door to reveal a giant projector screen at the far side of the room. There were two couches in a V shape facing the giant screen, with a couple of large bean bags in between. There was a fridge behind them, and a small bookshelf with various snacks.

I spotted Xavier on one of the sofas, and the two twins on the other. Xavier smiled at me, and patted the seat next to him.

"Come on Luna, fancy a match?" He laughed. The twins stared at me, unmoving. I sat next to Xavier and grabbed a controller from
The side table.

"Game on."
