I wheel my jet black bag of luggage out of my house. I told my parents that I was going, they didn't even care. I waited for the taxi to come and take me to the airport in the semi-warm spring weather. When the bright yellow vehicle pulled up outside my house I put the suitcase in the boot and my small backpack next to me. I pulled out my iPhone and earphones and started shuffling my playlist.

After almost an hour of sitting in the cab, the driver pulled up outside the airports international terminal. I thanked him and handed him the money to pay the fee. I grabbed my luggage from the back of the car and started by journey to LA. I felt butterflies turn into large birds inside my stomach as the excitement overtook my senses. I walked through the airport with ease, showing them ID, checking my baggage in, getting through security and finally, waiting. My flight boards at 6:45pm for a 7pm takeoff. It currently 6:15 and the nerves are starting to kick in. I've messaged David multiple times and we are both so excited.

The safety video had started to play. We were close to taking off and I was trying to calm myself down before the panic escalated any further. There was a girl next to me who seemed about maybe 10 or so years older and when she saw me starting to freak out she helped calm me down. The plane took off and my mind started thinking millions of thoughts at once. Thousands of scenarios played before my closed eyes. My breathing quickened and my eyes shot open. 'It's ok. It's ok. It's ok sweetie, it's ok' it was the lady next to me. I focused on my breathing pattern and by the time it had slowed back to normal we were up in the sky already at our cruising rate. I thanked the woman next to me, Julia, and pulled out my phone to take a photo. I had a window seat so I had a really good photo opportunity.

The captains loud voice came over the planes speakers and the flight attendants started getting people ready for the planes dismount. I put my seat back to the original angle and looked out the window it was about 9am in Los Angeles and I felt the wave of excitement come crashing over me yet again. I was in LA. A place I had dreamed about for so long. I felt Julia's hand come over mine and I smiled a thankful smile as my ears started popping from the altitude.

Once my luggage was collected and I had all I brought with me I walked through to the waiting area. I saw him immediately and sprinted towards him my suitcase clattering along the airports ugly patterned floor. 'DAVID!' I squealed embracing him. 'BRYDEE!!' He replied equally as excited. I felt happy tears escape my eyes and I hugged him tighter. 'Are you ok Brydee?' David asked. I nodded, 'I just missed you so much' I replied smiling weakly. We walked to Davids car and I got in contently. David put my big suitcase in the back and then got into the drivers seat.

'So first we will go to my place. Me, my girlfriend Liza and you live there. Lizas great, you'll love her! And then later we should probably go over to my friends house, that's where I spend most of my time when I'm not with Liza. Oh yeah and there's this girl called Gabbie, she's cool. You'll like her too!! You're gonna love it here Brydee!'

When I got to my new home I met Liza, she's really nice, and I didn't bother unpacking, I was just wayyyy too tired. I slept for an hour straight and felt refreshed I get out of my bed and go find David, he's watching tv with Liza and when he sees me he jumps up and comes over to me. 'I love having you here already!' He said hugging me. 'So are you up to going to meet some friends?' He asks. I nod and head back to my room and take a quick shower. It's a lot colder here than in Australia so I pull out some leggings a plain white tshirt and one of my main jumpers. This one was plain black with a white outline of a dog on it. I make my hair and face look presentable before going back into the living room.
