Lydia had been experiencing the same dream from a week ago, over and over again. Each time felt just as real as the next, and she couldn't help but question whether it was jus a dream; in the supernatural world, anything is possible.
Kira's words had shaken Lydia to her core, and she couldn't help but believe that things were going to go horribly wrong, whether the pack liked it or not. The world has its ways, and most of the time it's not the nicest.
Derek and Isaac have been focussed completely on investigating Eichen house; they were adamant on their suspicions of the place, and did not give up their speculation because of the opinions of the pack. So far, they had found nothing. Their biggest lead was the fact that they had been quiet for a suspiciously long time.
However, since their break in, Eichen house had ceased to stay quiet. They were all over the news because of it, but the public had no idea why. Of course, the institution was not known to hold 'supernatural' creatures, as such; more 'mentally disturbed' people. Beacon Hills believes that electronics were stolen, due to the power surge and the stolen security cameras.
No members of the pack have been caught; all surveillance of the night was erased, and shut down. Although, they never killed any of the guards or nurses, which only left them to talk. Lydia had a snaking feeling that they wouldn't, given their treatment. And, without any evidence to support their statement, it's practically useless.
And here Lydia sits, anxiously chewing on her thumb nail, eyebrows furrowed heavily, eyes glazed over and not concentrating on anything in particular, letting her thoughts crash through her mind like a destructive tornado. Stiles arm laid protectively around her waist, pulling her close to him and playing with a strand of hair.
"What are you thinking about, sunshine?" he asked gently, and a blush cascaded over Lydia's cheeks, tainting them a rosey red. "You seem troubled with an expression like that."
Lydia sighed deeply, relaxed her face and removing her nail from between her teeth, relishing in the calmness received by releasing the tension in her body. Her hands laid in her lap, her forefinger running over the jagged bites of the nail on her thumb, picking at the rivets in annoyance. "Everything," she looked up at him with wide eyes, before lowering them once again. "And nothing at the same time." Stiles raised an eyebrow, edging her to continue on with her explanation. "I feel kind of empty, but there are so many thoughts running through my head. They're not even running, they're sprinting. I can't grasp them, they're going so fast. Each and every one of them just whizz by, right in front of my eyes, and I try to aimlessly grab them but I can't. They're ephemeral." she paused again, her heart beating fast. "And I feel like I'm alone," she laughed, looking into Stiles honey eyes, "But I'm not; in fact, I'm quite far from it. Maybe talking about it just solidifies the feelings." She lowered her gaze to her lap once again. "Maybe I don't want that."
"Lydia," Stiles grabbed her hand, squeezing it tightly. "I'm always here when you need it. To bottle it all up is not very good for your well being. But, in saying that, it's also not very good to force yourself into something that you don't want to go through." He smiled softly at her, revealing the two dents in his cheeks. "That's why I said when you need it. When you want it. I'm here for you always, when you know you need me most. And, I promise. I will never leave your side."
Lydia's emerald eyes were glistening with tears, full of love and joy, and also a comfort that she didn't know she needed. A comfort that guaranteed her safety, and a home. Stiles was her home. They needed each other. Through thick and thin.
